Police B4C
So yeah i was wondering....if you were to go to a state auction and buy a camaro from the state troopers would it be a B4C or just a Z28? i guess my question is are all trooper camaros B4C or not?
just curious thanks vince |
As far as I know all camaros that cops used are all B4C equiped.

I know its a performance package, but I know some are stripped down before given to the public also. Thats all I have :ne_nau:

Let me tell you something about cop cars.
They live a very rough life. Think about it for a minute. You go to work and you are given a car to drive. All you do is pump gas in it when you are done. You don't fix it EVER, you don't have to worry about reselling EVER, you basically don't care too much about what happens to it. Worst case is you wreck it. Then all that typically happens is as long as you weren't being a ******* when it happens, you get another car the next day. Do you think you would take care of it?? come on, lets be realistic. Havin a car to BEAT on is probably one of the better fringe benefits of the job... I honestly wouldn't bother for two reasons- the first reason is listed above, the second reason is simple- The B4C package that people talk up so much isn't that great to begin with. For the price you are going to pay up front for one, you could probably easily get a simple Z and go from there. That way you can upgrade the stuff with what you want anyway and come away with a better car that someone more than likely took better care of. |
Id still kill to have a cop car camaro tho! After I saw the ones at CSF.. Damn they look so stealty.. Id pull people over with the lights on some dreary late night backroad just to scare the piss out of them, then Id just leave :D... Damn Id really like to have one :)

That would be fun, but posing as a Law Enforcement Official is a quick way to see just how big your local jail cell is.
And yes, the cars are stripped of lights and cop stuff before they are sold. They might leave the called "chip" that everyone talks about in them, but its nothing more than a simple piggy back chip.. |
not all police cars are ordered as such by the departments (some are actually seized drug dealer cars) also very few retired cop cars are in good enough condition to want, they are stripped of most police items (the dealership I worked at in GA did teh mounting and removing for teh county)

I was just about to say that you beat me to it!
