Possible to change tie rod ends without a front end alignment?

I know supposedly if you mark the threads you can change the tie rod ends without having to do a front end alignment. I have also heard that it is possible to get the tie rod ends back in the exact spot. I was wondering if I could get some feedback, do you think I will need to have a front end alignment done once I change my tie rod ends if I mark the threads?

I would mark them then take it for an alignment anyway. The cost of tires and other parts that can wear with bad alignment is way more than the $40 to get it done...

anytime you change any suspension part get an alignment, the new part may have a change in it that effects things, also a worn part changes the alignment

yeah, when was the last time you had an alignment done, you might put it back exactly how it was, but if it wasn't correct in the first place then ur still getting screwed. i would get it done
