the electronic lock is wearing down?

sounds like your latches are just out of alignment. when you go to close the latch, look carefully and see if its lining up correctly….if not just loosen up the hex bolts and move the latch accordingly

just a guess man…..

Mine has always dones this, seems to be a common problem, the spring in that release mechanism is really weak. I read an article that stated how to fix it, all it involved was going to the hardware and buying another spring to clip on there and it solve the problem completely.

yea, mine works great, its just that some times if you dont close it hard enough, it wont close all the way, there have been times where I accidently drove with the hatch open not realizng it untill my inside light kept comming on...

fix: use the key.

And you will always have to press the button more than once, twice in fact.. I know on TA remotes it says X2 instead of showing the trunk.

Yea my button says X2 on there, Them remotes are crap I have to press mine like 4 times to get it to work maybe my batteries are shity but still crap none the less. Unless the guys talking about the button on the dash under the headlight switch.

I was talking about from inside the car, mine always sticks down, I hit the button and it clicks but when I walk around to the back of the car its still stuck shut.

i wasnt talking about the key fob cause i dont have one i have to unlock the car with the key and then start the car before the factory alarm goes off. that is why i want to fix the inside button cause if i open the trunk with the key the alarm goes off immediately

why dont you buy a remote and get it programmed? You can get one on ebay for like 20-30 and have them program it for 40-50 at the dealer... its kind of expensive, but at least youll have a remote that way.

that is why i dont have one yet lol i dont do stealerships. they charge you an arm and a leg for 2 seconds of work. on a side note around new years i disconnected the battery to clear the SES light and coudnt get the car to start or anything the fogs and hazzards flashed and then the car locked itself. turned out the previoous owner had a second alarm installed and i am guessing the dealership removed the killswitch cause there were 3 wires stuffed under the dash that had been cut. that is also a reason i havent got the key fob yet. i am afraid that the second alarm being installed may have messed up the factory alarm and i will have to shell out more cash to get it fixed. i guess i will just take a look at the mechanism and see what i can do. thanks for the replies guys
