Problem after problem....
the last 2 days it has been raining like hell here and my blinkers and running light both blew out from a water leak, question is how do i take the clear corner cover off ( is there anything to unscrew or does it pop out from the front or should i jsut go and get the black ones and replace it since i have the blacked out head lights ?

you replace them from the bottom... 3 screws are holding it in... 2 from the back, 1 in the bottom if its the same as a 93-97
|
its kinda annoying to change those stupid lights cause u have to open this little pannel on the bottom that has a couple screws and stick u arm in it and try to like get ur hand in the right place, its not hard or anything just one of those little irratating things that pisses u off :D

what a bout replacing the cler with the black one do you think that could prevent it a lil more cause this is the second time its happened

And going to black lenses will "ONLY" change the looks bud.......they have nothing to do with leaks. The water's probably coming in through the holes where your bulb sockets go in to the lense. If your rubber seal ring is worn out and it's not really hard to screw the socket into the lense, you might want to change it. ;) |
To change the corner lights in the 98+ just take out the headlight and its easy access from there. Its like 2-3 screws to get the corner light out. Its maybe a 10-15min job.

yeah arch its much easier on the 98+. they can be taken out from the bottom i think, but pulling the headlights is easier.
on 93-97 maros you have to go from the bottom, but on my bird i can take em out through the top and bottom :) i just opened my headlights halfway and shoved my hands down there and unbolted them, then unbolted the single bolt on the side of that bottom cover then slid the lense through there. it was even easier on my first maro, the green one. it didnt have those two panels underneath :) |

it took me about 20 minutes to swap mine out with the new ones in

What Evvvv :nana: I just know that changing out the 93-97's couldn't be easier,.....and the two guys that were talking about their LS1 cars, were complaining about what a pain it was. Maybe it was because they had big hands and had some trouble with going through the headlight area. :ne_nau:
Speaking of swapping out clear corners,......I'll be changing mine for a third time this Thursday, when I finally do the DRL mod to my car. (yay) |
