Hey guys....ive been thinking about buying a new car lately....still not really sure on what i want....but the cavalier z24 crossed my mind.....any input?.. good motor?...maintenance?....insurance?...

z24 is a good quality car, i personally like the design they did, there's so much u can do with a cav than with my camaro lol, and u can do em for really cheap. insurance wont be bad with that car since it's almost like a commuter car, it's a good choice.

its acutally pretty nice (i might get 1) the body work they did on it really set it apart from the regular cavalier p.s 140hp and lot of equipements like sunroof

If you get a Cav get a new one.

Don't buy an older one.

Once there 10 years old Insurance companies hate on them hardcore cuz the crumple like beercans in an accident. Old Cav's:smilie_d0

Used to own a 98 Z24, great car didn't give me any issues except water pump which is a common problem at around 100km on those cars, but anyway I liked it, drove decent, good fuel economy, pretty quick to. Considering how filthy cheap they are now you can get one for a great price at a newer year then many other cars. However alot of cavaliers are total so its kind of a gamble make sure you scout your cavi and usually for the price you can't go wrong, but will brake on 'em. As for insurance generally better then like a civic Si or a golf.

had a few cavs. not bad cheap to fix they made millions of them

I`ve got a 2000 Z24 and its been a great car. Pretty peppy for stock, 2.4`s a good motor, decent on gas and reliable, however water pumps are either very expensive if you don`t know how to change or very time consuming if you do it yourself. Other then the water pump, pretty stress free ride.
