How well will R34 work on a 1992 Camaro.

archemedes 10-03-2006 11:32 AM

it will work if you do the conversion

97z2801ss 10-03-2006 12:07 PM

yea either convert it ($$) or R12 = old ****

im not sure u can get R12 recharge kits.. I know you cant get either without a license

archemedes 10-03-2006 04:08 PM

the conversion kits are only about $30

mxracerbrian 10-03-2006 08:45 PM

you cant get r12 anymore unless you have a liscense. you can buy r134a in the little cans anywhere. the conversion is super easy and cheap. ive gotten them for less than 15 dollars.

blue89vert 10-03-2006 09:34 PM

what does it mean to convert it?

turns the system to run on R12 to R134a. converting it is really an over kill of a statement. all that your basically doing is putting different ends on your lines for the gages to snap onto.

then you just throw some fluid in the lines, put a vacume pump on the system to get all the air out and fill her up with the freeon

archemedes 10-03-2006 10:55 PM

you also change the seals as the oils need different seals

How well will it work. Will it get cold really good.

archemedes 10-05-2006 02:19 PM

I have heard mixed reviews, if done correctly it will cool fine, if you use one of the universal replacements (aka freeze 12) it sucks
