ripped leater

i noticed the side bolster ripping on my leather seat. is there something to rub on it to seal it? i thought ive seen something on an infomercial...

How big is the rip?

you can get leather repair kits. my dad has some that work well, im not sure exactly where you can get them tho.

As a temporary fix by some upolstery thread and a upolstery needle, it is curved. Turn the ripped ends inward to the foam and sew it up. There is nothing I know of to "rub" on it. Mine did the same as most f bodies do. This is what I ended up doing until my wife makes new leather covers in two tone to replace my worn leather.

it isnt bad yet. what i could do before it gets worse i can switch the top parts of my front seats. that way the rip will be on the inside of the passenger seat and it wont get worse and it wont be noticed.

Ya same here... Ill get some monaaay together if she makes 4th gen covers :)

Jpack 05-03-2006 02:45 PM

If some one gets a cloth seat cover, sends it to me and gets the leather, I'm sure we could work somthing out. Need the cloth seat cover for making the pattern.

hmmmmmmmlike the ones off my seats? or like just chhep ones that i like and would like to have in leather

Jpack 05-27-2006 12:55 PM

I would need actual seat covers from the car. Not aftermarket ones. You could even go to the bone yard and snag some off the seats.

87RS 05-30-2006 01:18 PM

how much do u think it would be for a whole 3rd gen set like back seat in all? im having a brain fart so i would buy the leather and she would put it all together right
