rk sport emblems
rk sport emblems
hey so i was told that the stock emblems such as the z28's and rear bow tie are held on with a gluey substance, i was also told the rk sport emblems are stick on, does anybody have these? also how well do they last? i mean they wont just fall off right? how do i get the stock ones off? and what should i use to get the gluey residur off thanx!
stock embles use a 3m double sided foam tape, you can use a putty knife or other stiff thin device clean teh excess glue off with a goo gone or similar (be careful some will peel paint) or use the 3m eraser in a drill. most real companies use the same tape as the factory ones the reason people have a problem with them holding is cleanliness, clen the area to apply the emblem with rubbing alcohol and don't touch the adhesive or metal or it won't stick your skin is oily
wal mart sells it, and you need to check it (in a door jamb works nice) usually a little won't (don't glob it on and let it dry between coats)but anything that removes adhesive will soften paint
what do u mean in a door jamb it works great? also what is it like a gel so if i remove the emblem and there is goo i put the stuff on let it sit and wipe it off? how does it work and how much for it?
To remove my emblems i heated them with a hair dryer and sprayed 3m adhesive cleaner on it occasionally and used the adhesive cleaner to get all the gunk off. I was afraid of harming the paint that's y i didn't use anything stronger than the adhesive cleaner. If u want Z emblems someone on LS1tech is selling some really nice ones i wouldn't go with RK sport they cost too much. I'm gonna get the LS1tech ones for my car that's y i removed the badges.
ok email em stingvette73@hotmail.com, thanx
