rocker arms
k so i was looking through cardomain and i saw somebody who took their stock rocker arms and went at them with like a dremel or something and shaved a couple ounces off of each one. Im j/w if that is worth it or even safe to do.
anybody?
umm doesn't sound safe but i guess i don't know for sure
I bet what you saw was someone making their own 1.6 ratio rockers..
so whats that mean? whats the difference in 1.5 and 1.6?
it's safe if you know what your doing, you can **** up the ratio, and slot real easy (ratio is the amount that the rocker has to move compared to the distance it moves the valve) gain is probably minimal due to huge variance in accuracy (changing ratio would be like changing cams)
thanks guys
So pick up a set of 1.6 ratio rockers.. and you'll be happy.
so what did you do gray?
i took my valve covers off, looked at my rocker arms, painted my valve covers, and put them back on. lol
nice decision i must say
what did you use to paint your engine parts?
engine paint...and i guess i did a good job b/c my friend asked me if i just bought them. i said noooo, i just painted them. he was like howd u get em to look so sweet?!?! then i brought them home and my dad was like who painted those? they look really nice
