Shaking...

My car shakes when I stop and it's in gear. If i put it in neutral it all goes away. Just wondering if anyone knew what the problem could be. I keep telling myself it's the power and it just wants to go, but i'm starting to think it's not. :o

if you have a auto kinda sounds like to Torque converter is not unlocking (called surging)

i don't know im not that best on A-4 cars

archemedes 12-22-2004 11:32 PM

trans issue more than likely

94customcamaro 12-23-2004 01:59 AM

I was afraid it would be transmission.

I used to have almost the same problem. Its either a vacum hose leak or possible worn motor mounts...Im not sure what was my problem because by that point I had put in a newer v6....

MetalliCamaro 11-28-2006 10:38 PM

Sounds like a through-out bearing.. What idle do you run? in gear with brakes applied../when the shaking/Vibration occurs?

paarman97maro 11-28-2006 11:17 PM

You're talking about a studder?

Could be a few things, without being able to see/hear it, i'd guess mass air flow sens; or the possibility of a missfire.
