should i buy them??????

hey guys im not new to this sight but i just joined it today and i just want to start of by saying its really helped me out now i was wondering wut u guys think i should do found two T3 turbos that i can by but its just the turbos themselves and i was wondering how hard and how much its going to cost to finish the rest of the setup keep in mind i have the 3.8 V6 thankz

Well be prepared to spend a lot of money if you're going twin turbo'd. There's no kit's out there so you'll have to find a shop to custom do everything for you. If you're going to do that I'd say hold off on buying the turbo's and see which ones they think would be best with the setup they put together.
That's just my .02 though

Welcome to :yeahpc:

well i no that money will be high but do u have a figure and i have a local shop that will prolly do it another thing im wondering is if i do twin turbo it how much power am i lookin to gain??????? after tunning and all

Phate 11-11-2006 03:29 PM

Twin turbo fabrication and install, your looking at probally $5,000+. As per power increase, it all depends on the tune, and the psi your running.

archemedes 11-11-2006 03:31 PM

and the condition of the turbos

youngMaroman 11-11-2006 05:53 PM

well im only going to do it if its going to be under 6000 if not im droppin an 8 but i really like the 3800 so if i can get it up to 400hp i will keep it so i need atleast a 100 horse gain from this twin turbo install do u think thats possible

ITSA6 11-11-2006 07:12 PM

wow sounds like fun a single turbo kit for the 3.4 is 3000 if you wanted to know

archemedes 11-11-2006 07:32 PM

100 hp is doable, cost your going to get close to the $6000 mark (don't forget if you do a v8 swap it will cost a couple grand typically in misc parts, and your still about the same power)

Remember with a build like that, you will need to rebuild the whole drivetrain and suspension to get the power to the ground. Otherwise its just a dynoqueen.

paarman97maro 11-11-2006 08:01 PM

Welcome to PC.

You should have no problem getting close to 400 with twins.

Shodown 11-11-2006 08:04 PM

Paar, it doesnt seem right that you dont have a bulky sig let alone no sig at all! What happened to it? :lolsign:

If you get a really good price- since it doesn't come with anything at all. Honestly if you aren't into doing things yourself I would stay away from having to fabricate stuff. Its a big PITA and unless you can think 5 steps ahead you end up redoing a lot of stuff.

From the sounds of it, I think you would be better off just waiting for someone to sell their kit off their V6 that they have done the fab work for you.

Unless they wreck it, nobody that goes through the trouble to fabricate a kit is gonna sell it typically. I wish the kits were as plentiful as they are for the 8's.
