slp loudmouth

is loud mouths worth putting on a 1996 camaro Z28 with a 4 spd trans?

i would do anything to open up the exhaust on a Z28...im not sure of the sound because i have never heard loud mouths on a z28

97z2801ss 05-01-2006 10:46 AM

they sound pretty good...

hambone's z 05-01-2006 02:51 PM

my z 28

i dont know if it has good enough back presure and i know it needs sum or it is slugish?

Sinister95Z 05-01-2006 04:29 PM

Your car will be anything but "sluggish" if you put a loudmouth on it. Not only will it flow much better but it will sound extremely mean. Another idea would be to replace the SLP resonator with a Borla XR-1 muffler. It's reffered to as a "borlamouth". Also sounds very good.

Yea i love my loudmouth exhaust, Before I had the flowmaster cat back on my formula, it felt like it robbed my car a lil from the stock exhaust and it sounded pretty ****** in high rpms, i still have the whole system sitting in my garage noone wants it lol.

They sound good- I have a couple friends with them..

just go buy a dynomax bullet and put in on... i think noriceinside did that... sounds better IMO and it is cheaper....

I have the loudmouth on my car right now and I love the sound. I currently have longtube headers and an ORY so don't worry about backpressure with just the catback.

Here's what it sounds like on an LT1 with lt headers and ORY.

if you have an all stock 96 Z-28, just buy the loudmouth and put it on or take it to a shop. it will bolt right up, sound extremely nice and flow very well. eventually it might get to raspy inwhich case you take out the SLP resonator and do a bullet muffler like said before. or you can just do a y pipe after the I pipe comes over the axle and delete the muffler. that sounds nice, flows well and is extremely simple and cheap for an exhaust shop to do prolly under 150 bucks.

it does sounds better than a flowmaster, but i'd actually prefer a loudmouth.
