SS questions

I have found a NICE buy on eBay for a 2001 Camaro SS w/ factory SLP package. There is a plack right above the radio that says a few things but i cannot seem to read it with the pictures that are provided. Anyone have any information on what 2001 Camaro's came with this plack? The plack has the horsepower, torque, etc.. on it. I am just wondering if this is something special or what? Because there are other 2001 Camaro SS w/ SLP packages on eBay that do not have this plack. Thanks in advance.

to my knowledge its just an aftermarket goody you can put there. i beleive a company makes them to whatever you want and they fit right there.

SLP put it on as well.

It says 346ci, hp rating, tq rating, and it says Camaro SS.

People think because it says SS it's worth 100 times more. I'd recomand just to keep searching local dealerships and keep checking on LS1Tech.com, they have the absolute best classified section. I have boughted so many of my parts off there.

Cz28 and ls1tech are both awesome when it comes to classifieds!

Yup...

From 98-02 the basic SS package was a factory spec Z/28 with a larger front swaybar, SS hood, SS spoiler, SS badges, and I thiiiink that was it.

Now, if you wanted that special badge or floormats or level 1 suspension or level 2 suspension or CME, then that was added to the price of the vehicle...

BTW, the CME(Center Mount Exhaust) only came in the 01-02 years, and at one time SLP refused to sell this to ANY other SS or Z28 unless it came originally with the car...

However since the last 02 came off the lot NOW SLP offers the CME to anyone who is willing to pay the price regardless whether the vehicle in question originally came with it or not.

And too bad cuz at the time SLP wouldn't sell me the CME, so I "settled" for their Dual Quad tips and rear valence...If I waited another 2 years I could have opted to buy the CME and SLP would've sold it to me no questions asked:rolleyes:

It also use to be you couldn't buy the actual SS hood, spoiler, etc... but they have since changed it.

They sure did, didn't they?

That's fine, the dual-quad looks way different, I like it, most of the people around here that see it tend to like it, so I'm glad I got it:)

I looked for weeks on autotrader.com, cars.com, ebay, and the local car ads that you can pick up at any corner store and I found that Autotrader worked the best. We got a good deal.

CARLOS01SS can i see a picture of your car? It sounds tempting.
