supercharger
i wanna throw a supercharge in my 95 Z-28 and i was wondering what was a good supercharger to go with thats not to pricey.
|
so you wanna throw and sc and n20 on there?...or are just trying to find out which'll work better...if u ask me n20 is a cheaper way to go, and if you use it right and have it setup correctly then everything will be fine.
i personally would rather go sc than n20 but since im buying an engine and tranny along w/ redoing the paint, inertior, ect...n20 will be a cheaper way to go. i'll probly end up going w/ a 100 shot. |
In my opinion, a ATI Procharger would be the BEST and make the most power, but is is also prolly one of the highest priced. I would just keep an eye out on ebay for one. They are on there alll the time.

ati is good.Forcefedz can give the best recomendation since he just did a complete build. You can do both n2o and sc you just have to be careful
|
yea procharger is the way to go. about 4 grand i think.

If you get a used one and are mechanically inclined you can save a BUNCH of money, esp if all the parts aren't there. I bought mine for about a 1/4 of new since it was missing some spacers and lines, but a couple trips to the hardware store and some engineering it was make to work.
As far as brands- I would go with either Vortech or ATI. I am runnin the ATI 600B, its a small one, and it does the job for now. I will more than likely upgrade someday but if its not broke I am not gonna fix it. I would stay away Powerdyne IMO- I don't really like the idea of an internal belt on a blower- it seems more likely to slip or break to me. If you want sleeper a Vortech SQ is barely noticeable whereas the ATI's make more noise and will get you noticed. Either way you go- get some kind of cooling, either air/air (easier and quicker) or air/water. As soon as I have a way to upload my dyno runs to my computer I will post them. |
I got the Powerdyne, but I only paid 1,500 for it all. And it went on a V6. It's worked well for me. But I agree the others ^^ are a better units. I have mine at 9psi. I won't part with it now though :)
