T-56 vs A4

So i am planning on getting back into a camaro either at the end of this summer or the end of the next one. I am just curious what you guys think and thought it wouldn't hurt to have a new thread on the site. Alright so i am going to buy a 94-96 camaro and i think that my end goal would be around 380-400hp all motor. My question is which transmission would be able to hold up longer? Which one would be more reliable? It won't be a daily driver so i don't care about manual vs automatic i enjoy both. SO which transmission has a better track record for holding together? Thanks guys

You cant shift faster than a computer. Are you going to be getting a different tranny or keeping the one that comes in the car? I believe I have heard the 460LE (or whatever it is) are more reliable than the t-56is. I personally want my next camaro to be a manual because I think they are more fun to drive/easier to spin the wheels, and you have more control of speed. I just like being able to drive at whatever RPM I want, and when I have an exhaust system installed, I know Im going to want that.

I am not planning on replacing the transmission i would rather have something factory that could hold up instead. and 400hp is kinda the top of my goal i would be happy with 385 or so. i dunno i am just debating i used to be deadset on autos but i drove a BMW M3 a while ago that was a stick and it was a blast. I agree with the being able to control the power part i just want to know which one is going to last longer with the hp

auto is going to make u alot more consistant on the track .

T56 is far stronger than the 4L60 (in stock trim). There are numerous people running 650+ rw through the T56 whereas the 4L60s can blow anywhere in the 450rw range. With that said, 4L60s can be built up (or you "can" convert to a 4L80) while the T56 "is what it is".

Auto will be more consistent at the track
Manual is more fun to drive (I think)

And HS girls don't care if it's manual or auto (you can get poontang with either)....they just like to be seen with the top down in a "flashy looking car"....... lol

stalled auto is fun,but rowing through is gears is a blast!

Autos are for the lazy, the incompetent and the female. T-56 is more reliable, lighter, faster, better on gas and is the ****ing best toy ever developed.

The newbs talking about consistency are prbly not running 9s

Moral of the story get standard, always standard. I'll never buy another auto.
