tires

Ok i need to get the car inspected so i need to buy tires for the hubs...but what is the largest tires size you can get as in wide...stock they are 215 60 R16...i was wondering that...but im most likely getting the stock size...till i get my rims in...

NCamaro94 04-26-2006 06:37 PM

remember the bigger you go the worse your handling gets. I don't recommend wide tires for street purposes.

I think the 7.5 inches wide but I can't remember for sure, I know the optional rims were 8 inches wide. Anyway you could probably put 255's on them if the rims are 7.5 inches wide but those might be hard to find for a 16 inch rim, I don't know. I would just get the 215's if you are going to get new rims right away anyway.

NoRiceInside 04-26-2006 09:17 PM

yeah i gotta friend who put 255/50 16s on his RS. so there ya go, thats the biggest. stock Zs and TAs have 245/50 16s.

that seems like a waste of money if you are buying rims... whats it getting inspected for?

V6Cam 04-26-2006 10:18 PM

it has to be inspected every year...i dont have money for rims now so im stuck getting tires for these POS wheels

Look at this way those POS rims make good winter wheels when you get your nice ones

I wish I had a set

If you lived close to me, I'd sell you mine. I don't need them anymore.

NoRiceInside 06-20-2006 03:37 AM

ya know what, just get the same size you have now. it will be much easier to find low cost tires.

BLLDOGG 06-20-2006 10:16 PM

I'm running 245/50/16s but i bet you could shove 255s on there. check out camarov6.com. if you search there, you will be able to find a definate answer.
