Trans dipstick popping out?
 

So whenever I open up my hood my trans dipstick is popped out of the tube a few inches. If I push it back in place and take a cruise it just pops back out again. It's only coming out a few inches but it gets the dust boot all the way off so the open tube is exposed to dirt and whatever else goes flying up into the engine bay.

What would cause this?

Your tranny has a breather on it to vent off any pressure that builds up. Its possible that its clogged somehow and that is causing the dipstick to pop up and relieve the pressure...
