Transmission Leak Please Help

Last night I was recentering my underlight kit and I noticed I had a puddle of tranny fluid under my transmission... and its covered in it.. What could cause me to loose fluid? If its just the gasket/seals how many are there... I have the pinion seal the main seal and the pan seal.. is that probably what it is... if not what could it be its a 1995 v6 3.4 Camaro with a M49 Transmission atleast thats what i think the tranny is.. thats what the chevy dealership told me. iits 5 speed by the way.

Its probably a seal.

a seal is the most likely cause, it could very well be from the Pan, you will need to go underneath and check out your tranny, clean it up and identify the leak, it could be a seal where the output shaft goes to the drive shaft, check around there and list your findings, Ive done about three transmissions recently, and we had leaks comming from the dipstick tube too...if the V6's have one check it. Dont drive on low fluid, it can cause your tranny to have exccessive wear, and can sieze up.

lol.. v6s have dipstick tubes. Thats like saying they dont have an oil tube.

Yeah if its low, youll be driving and youll put it to the floor and its going to be like its in neutral. Then you wont be able to go over a certain gear. Happened to me last summer and it sucks ass.

there are basically 4 major external seals that fail rear at the driveshaft, pan, and front pump seal are major ones, dipstick tubes sometimes do, but they fail more due to owners pulling the tube out than anything else

I would say a seal for sure.

Thats the only way its going to get out.

Unless there is some kind of a hole somewhere. Take a rag and wipe it off , then wait a see where its coming from.
