V6 Exhaust

What is a good muffler for the v6, i want the best tones i can get with a v6, on my old camaro i had a flowmaster and it sounded real good till you got into the throttle, then it just got kinda high pitch and reallly wimpy sounding, i know its a v6 and i know this car will never sound like the HEMI that i park it next to in my driveway but this car needs to make some noise, and if you have sound clips that would help alot as well

p.s. all exhaust is still stock.:faint:

You can never get the sound of a v8 out of a v6. By spending alot of money and increasing your overall horsepower and compression you will get a deeper sound, but still nothing compared to the sound of a stock v8 with exhaust. The best way to make your v6 sound 'better' is to get a set of headers, do a cat delete or replace it with an aftermarket cat, and run the exhaust of your choice.

Some of the more popular exhaust systems are Magnaflow, TSP Rumbler, and Borla. The best for the money is probally the Rumbler. Found here - www.texas-speed.com

If I get a chance i'll try and get another exhaust clip of my car with the flowmasters on it, since i've upped the horses a bit, it doesnt sound too bad until around 5k.

no flowmasters that's all i can tell ya

Magnaflow and Borla are the cleaner sounding ones. If you want loud do the TSP Rumbler, it's cheaper too.

i would just say whatever exhaust u get just dont get huge pipes or it will sound like a bus and sound really bad

Heres a video of what pacesetters, 3" cat and 3" magnaflow sounds like. Computer ruins the sound, but close enough.

Why is the TSP Runbler soo loud? Is it b/c of the Dynomax Bullet Muffler is close to the cat?

paarman97maro 10-19-2007 01:25 PM

Because it has a bullet which is barely a muffler. Its like a stright pipe with padding.

A V6 owner on another forum put true duals on his v6...custom setup.

I have Flowmaster on my car, sounds great, runs mid 8's in the 1/8...fuk the haters. :eleph:

Demon-hemi 10-24-2007 06:25 AM

Well, i guess you can call me a semi hater because i hate the flowmaster on the v6 camaro ever since ive had one and it sounded like **** at high RPM's,but i have a flowmaster on my truck and couldnt be happier, as far as mid 8's i would be impressed if you werent on NO2, i dont believe in NOS, I believe in all motor, but nice ride never the less man car looks good.
