What brake pads to get?

I have a quick Q, should I get cermic brake pads or carbon metallic pads? or what would you recommend?

I have always been happy with Hawk HPS pads. That's what I always buy.

Im going to go with ceramic, seems to be the low noise and low heat pads, I dont care what brand really, as long as thier good and arent going to fail.

Keep in mind, ceramic are notorious for squeeking and they dont last as long as standard pads or perform as well. But you're right, they definately cut down on brake dust.

I've heard good things about the Hawk pads man...let me know how bad or if they squeak when you get them on.

when i switched from semi-metallic to ceramic pads in the front of my car, it stopped ALL brake squeel. one of the best/cheapest things i ever did to my car. i love the quietness of the ceramic.

So they eliminated squeel for you? My brakes are starting to squeel some when I barely press the pedal down, not under heavy braking, just light to medium stops. I'm thinking it's prob about time to change the pads and maybe get some drilled and slotted rotors.

you have some glazing from overheating do a panic stop from about 20 and it should help, if not the pads are delaminating. If it's glazed don't get drilled rotors, your driving habits will warp them

Well I think it's been doing it since I got the car, it's just progressively gotten a little worse. I usually stay pretty light on the brakes and I don't remember a panic stop. What are the benefits of drilled and slotted vs. slotted? And you think upgrading to some Hawk pads might help both performance and squeel? Thanks
