what to do to my 95 Z-28

Ok guys, i just got my 95 Z-28 a couple of days ago and i want 2 make some modifications. I was thinking of a shot of nitrous (75-125), ladder bars (get more power to the ground), 4.10s or 3.73s, and a superchip. Thats what i have come up with so far. Hit me back with more suggestions or comments. I have a 1-2grand (max) price range also. My goal is to spank ricers, Mustang GTs and later on Cobras.

you should spank ricers with a stock z28.... dont take much to beat mustangs

dude save up around another grand or so. get an LE1 setup from Lloyd Elliot.with his heads and cam, 30 lbs injectors, long tubes headers and good tuning it should be good for around 400 hp almost. when i e-mailed him he said people with well setup cars are running mid 11's with that setup.its 1100 for the package and then the price of headers, injectors, gaskets, rockers, pushrods, guideplates and other stuff. 3 grand will be more than enough. i figure for my car it is going to cost around 2500 to complete it.

Mustangs shouls also be no problem. Stock, my car was eating them alive.

If your gonna a low shot of nitrous either do a custom tune or leave the tuning stock.

why do you say that, there are a ton of ways to make good power and still be legal

sure is...all the stuffo n the lt1 car does not hurt performance... people misconcept emissions stuff as holding the car back from max power which is untrue

well it will affect what kinda of exhaust he can run,(true duals, no cats) and how big a cam he can put in and weather or not he can delete AIR and EGR, choosing proper headers. it depends on what he plans on doing about emmisions.

I would go with Gears 4.10s if it isnt a everyday driver and a PCM tune big diff. I thought. Thats just my .02

super chevy did a test on a car and made more power with a proper designed single exhaust over a typical muffler shop dual exhaust (single you can use a larger pipe than with duals for clearance reasons)egr doesn't lower hp at all (it's not used under wot) there are no real good headers over the counter for the lt1 (to make the most power you need custom)

idc what magazine did what, you need to have a plan in order to nkow what parts to go with. i have a plan and have most of my parts picked out. Pacesetter's, ASM/TPIS, hooker are all good headers that will make more power than any shorties or mids and none of them have AIR or EGR fittings, so it kinda depends on what your looking for. also i know AIR and EGR have no effect on power but they clutter the engine bay and really clean it up. like i said also it will affect your choice of header.
