The Optispark system is just a Dual Sync Distributor, they are a major pain in the *** considering they placed it right below the water pump, and water damage causes them to fail, not to mention they like to fail regardless.

Signs of a bad distributor are most commonly when the motor rotates but will not start.

If you do end up replacing it, most definately spend the extra money and get a MSD Opti. You'll save money in the long run.

thanks, car is hard to start, but when it does it runs like

**** for 5mins, then it evens out and you can drive it. I bet my cap and rotor are shot, i'm going to put an msd on it. I'll let you know if that fixes my probl. thanks.

Make sure you get the right one for your car- the nice thing about the MSD is that even if your car didn't have a vented opti from the factory, it will after putting on the MSD.
