what backspace, that size should fit, but if the backspace isn't right it will rub

I do not know the backsapce but the offset is 53mm for both

Would 305/45Z or 295/40Z tires fit a 99 Camaro? Around how wide would the rims have to be?

Both a 295 or 305 would fit well on about a 9.5 - 10.5 wide wheel.

Assuming the wheels you are looking at have about a 6.5 to 7.5 backspace, the rims you listed should fit without any issues. 53mm offset is perfect. Sounds about the width and offset as some ZR1 wheels...

what kind of suspensions are out there for a '70 'maro? which is the best.... i'm tryin to make the tail rise up... i have something, air, right now, no idea what brand... but i have to slow almost to a crawl to go over a bump...
