Window tint

Didnt know weather this was "interior" or "exterior" so I'll put this here.

Is there anyway to tell what % tint you have? When I bought the car (used) I thought it look heavly(sp?) tinted and asked the guy about it all he knew was that it wasnt legal, lol, thanks dude.

A real tint expert should know ;).

Post a few pics, I (if not me, somone else) can give you a range by looking at it.

go ask a cop to check it for you...at least if you ask they won't give you a ticket for it

FORCE_FED_Z 08-22-2006 01:17 PM

If you ask the wrong cop he will..but more than likely he won't.

Like Paar said, post some pics, make sure they are in the daytime and don't have the sun shining directly in the windshield either.

Here's a quick range-

35%- you can see in and almost see faces
20%- you can see an outline of someone during the day, but not very easily
5% or darker- can't see in at all

Check the sticky for the laws in your state-

Those are bad pics for judging, but it looks like 5% from the side pic (which is really the only good pic for judging).

DCCamaro22 08-24-2006 08:55 AM

That looks like 5% to me. The reason I say that is because from the angle shot looking through the front glass to the drivers side glass you still can't see out at all, so I'm guessing 5%.

It's hard to tell but I'm possitive it isn't legal so don't ask a cop.

is it this dark on a cloudy day?

Attachment 157988

and this dark in direct sunlight?

Attachment 157989

if so then it's 5% or less my car has 2% so it's completly dark no matter if i keep the t-top shades in or out. Those pics don't have shades in the tops so there was light allowed through to the interior of the car.
