y pipe question

i was woundering if anyone made a y pipe that would bolt up to the stock manifolds but would also bolt up to shortys, do the shorts sit in the same place as the stock manifolds? reason is my dad said i could get a y pip but he wont let me get headers til later ( whever the hell that is ) :(

SLP makes one.

so the slp y pipe will mount to stock manifolds and short headers? and is an off road one? if so can u hit me with a link

I don't see it on the main site no more, but then again SLP just redid their site. Here is pic of what it looks like.https://www.slponline.com/img/part_img/30015C-1.jpg

yeah but im talking about just the y pipe, do those slp headers mount at the stock manifold location? other words can i get that y with stock manifolds and later buy the slp headers and still use the y pipe?

And the answer to your question is yes as far as I know. SLP doesn't have a sperate pic of the Y- Pipe. that is why I used the pic with the headers.

I have a Y-pipe for the 94-95 from SLP- brand new never installed...I will sell it to you with the manifolds for the 94 as well- however you will have a little adapting to do and a little research to see if it would work-

So basically I am offering the stock manifolds that will work for sure with the y-pipe and the y-pipe for a 94-95- send me a PM if you are interested...

i dont think it would pass smog. the 96s have dual cats, so the 94 would of course bolt up right, but a sensor or two or the AIR system might not work.

i dont need stock manifolds plus mine is a 96, i was asking basically if the short headers sit in the stock manifold positions so i could get an off road y and use it for my manifolds and then i could get short headers later and still use it

How much would you let that Y pipe go for?

FORCE_FED_Z 01-02-2005 01:01 PM

SLP sells them for $199, I would sell it for $100, like I said its brand new never mounted, but it has been sittin in my shop for a while.

RFF 01-02-2005 03:10 PM

What size is the Y-Pipe and why did you never use it?

FORCE_FED_Z 01-03-2005 12:05 PM

The y-pipe is dual 2.5"s into 3" and I never used it because I ended up getting headers instead...

stainless works makes an offroad y-pipe that bolts up to stock manifolds. its in the summit catalog - aluminized steel is 200 bones
