jamilz28 03-08-2005 09:06 PM

they rebuilt the motor ported and polished it put new heads in new cam new valve covers oil pump and water pump

the dude who did it told my to drive it like it was stolen to test every thing and it has a 3 year 100,000 mile warrenty

jamilz28 03-08-2005 09:08 PM

and i am done with the motor for now

69z-28 03-08-2005 09:14 PM

wait is the motor in the car already?

jamilz28 03-08-2005 09:28 PM

yes it took about 3 weeks

69z-28 03-08-2005 10:21 PM

whoa sweet. hows it run? how much faster is it?

jamilz28 03-08-2005 10:56 PM

i still havent driven it yet but after school tommorow i will see
but i know it has to be faster and my dad said it runs VERY VERY good :eleph:

meissen 03-08-2005 11:05 PM

how much did it cost?

97z2801ss 03-09-2005 12:56 AM

sweet! cant wait to hear a review?

jamilz28 03-09-2005 10:53 AM

3 grand

fbird42 03-09-2005 12:40 PM

post pictures

jamilz28 03-09-2005 04:15 PM

it drive's better faster and it is the best but the exhaust is not as loud i think it was louder because it didnt run good.

i dont have a digital camera the vavle covers are just new stock ones but they are powder coated

jamilz28 03-09-2005 04:20 PM

the people who did it messed up my head unit they unpulged it and i can't reach the wiring but if i spend an hour i might be able to do if i cant i will just buy an amp and a sub and a new headunit and have a pro install it

69z-28 03-09-2005 07:43 PM

just take it somewhere and ask them. they dont chrage much to trouble shoot, and it will prolyl be something easy. just try to figure it out yourself. what kinda exhaust do u have?

jamilz28 03-09-2005 10:06 PM

no i dont have a big problem the wire is just too short

i have a flowmaster exhaust

69z-28 03-09-2005 10:13 PM

get a custom exhaust. do you have emmisions in your town?

jamilz28 03-10-2005 04:45 PM

i dont care how loud it is for now but i will run stright pipe's to school so everyone thinks it will be faster then it realy is. i will use cut outs so when i go some where other than school i will use the normal flowmaster.

meissen 03-10-2005 05:54 PM

why would you want to flaunt something you don't have? Sounds like a ricer thing to do.

69z-28 03-10-2005 06:36 PM

just run headers to true duals right before the axle. thats pretty cheap and will sound good.

jamilz28 03-10-2005 08:04 PM

no but i do have one of the 2 fastest car's in my school , everyone drives slow cars they think high 13's is very fast

69z-28 03-10-2005 09:11 PM

high 13s is pretty fast... idk what else you have done to your car put if you just have the motor done your cars prolly a mid-low 13 second car.

jamilz28 03-10-2005 10:58 PM

no they think 13's is like hardcore my car is pretty, fast but not fast as i want it. i could of gotten a faster car but this is the coolest car thats fast and looks good

FORCE_FED_Z 03-11-2005 09:37 PM

I hope you aren't going out and giving it full throttle runs...

A completely rebuilt motor needs break-in time. I would say 500 miles before I started getting after it hard-

jamilz28 03-11-2005 09:52 PM

the dude told me to go full throttle to make sure everything is running good and i dont care i have a 3 year 100,000 mile warrenty parts and labor

69z-28 03-11-2005 11:56 PM

that guys a *******. you need break in time like ricekiller said. dont go hard on it till its has soem miles on it

archemedes 03-12-2005 01:09 AM

new engines don't need a break in (I talked to a guy that builds drag motors in Atlanta and he runs them for a few minutes to set lash and get to temp then full throttle runs)

69z-28 03-12-2005 07:34 AM

ive never heard of anything like that. sounds kinda stupid to me but w/e.

archemedes 03-12-2005 07:41 PM

new rings don't need the 5000 miles to seat like teh old type did same with new cams
