Z24 Turbo

Ive got a 98 cavy and was wondering if any other j-body guys have good pointers, or places to get parts.

...Yea right, not for that car.

Damn jbody's....Ugghh There is a dude on here with a turbo cav that apparently is pretty quick im sure he can give some advice if he sees this...

Otherwise read up on some jbody forums, but beware as most jbody owners are momo's.

search google for turbo cav and see what comes up and look up in your area!

if you have the 2.2 I would swap for a 2.4L or the 2.2L ecotec. Those engines can get to the 300whp range a lot easier than the crappy 2.2.

I am swapping for an ecotec in winter/spring time and when I have the money stage 2 turbo and 230whp. :D

J-bodies are natural sleepers because stupid civic guys hate them because they are cheap economical cars. They can produce huge numbers too, but they dont seem to realize that because most people in j-bodies have intake/muffler/stereo and have the 2200.

Go to j-body.org - the jbody organization and look in the boost forum. You will find what your looking for.

I've never seen a fast j-body... ever.

elysium 08-22-2006 04:08 AM

yeah me neither... ive seen some pretty riced out ones though. :smilie_d0

YellowCavy 08-22-2006 11:27 AM

You havent seen any fast ones because they are rare. Theres a guy with a 500whp street sunfire. Fast j-bodies are out there, just look.

Next year im swapping with an ecotec (stock on some 02s and 03-05 cavaliers) and its going turbo. I'll be getting ~300 horsepower.

And its my daily driver. :)

I've seen a lot of riced out civics too...so whats your point?

elysium 08-22-2006 01:44 PM

I wasn't trying to make a point but ok...

X_LUDWIK_X 08-22-2006 06:37 PM

Isn't there a green sunfire that runs 12's? But cant fit the front bumper on.. LOL

****ing **** you dont know . the dyno with that hahn racecraft stage 2 turbo shows 235whp. 300 horsepower isnt hard to do at all for anybody who knows anything about making more power for turbos.

Whats wrong with having plans for a car? I will get the ecotec swap done, ive got a parts list, ive already started getting parts for the swap. I may even be able to get it done in janauary if things work out.

Heres a pic of the dyno:

Morons like you dont think cavaliers can get over 200 horsepower, but its people like you I will love when I will have 300 horsepower, running 12s on the 1/4 and you wont think i will have it because i drive a cavalier.

Thats why I love j-bodies, they are natural sleepers because "they are shitty and cant go fast".

Id love to see you say that to me when I go t/c and im running 12s on the 1/4.:hitwithro

****ing cocksucker.

SuprAdam 08-23-2006 01:23 AM

You know this whole "stage" ordeal was invented for ricers like yourself to better understand the difference between setups, right?

Stage 1, 2, 25, mean **** all in the "real" world.

"300 horsepower isnt hard to do at all for anybody who knows anything about making more power for turbos."

Do you own a turbo car? Ever driven one? Worked on one? Idiot. Know who you are talking to before making stupid statements.

"Morons like you dont think cavaliers can get over 200 horsepower, but its people like you I will love when I will have 300 horsepower, running 12s on the 1/4 and you wont think i will have it because i drive a cavalier."

Why, so you can still be 20 car lengths behind me? Dumbass.

1)Jbodys are heavy cars for there size.
2) Suspension setup is bad for dragging, actually its bad just plain old driving anywhere.
3) they are wrong wheel drive, have fun breaking parts if you do get traction
4) 300hp is not enough to get it to hit consistent 12's, especially not with you driving. Not that you would even get that much, so your 230 is definetly not enough.

"Thats why I love j-bodies, they are natural sleepers because "they are shitty and cant go fast"."

You dont have to tell me jbodies are shitty. I know all about them.

YellowCavy 08-23-2006 02:27 AM

lmao no stages dont mean , they are just there to show people your getting more power. Stages add more modifications.

yes ive driven and worked on turbo car.

300 horsepower is plenty to get constant 12s. In fact 235whp was enough to get someone into the 12s with slicks and race gas.

No the suspension sucks, but upgraded suspensions work wonders.

Traction...is it just me or do MANY fwd cars get good times on the 1/4? I've seen tons. With a right setup fwd isnt "bad"

What do I give a **** if your cars faster? I got a 4cyl fwd cavalier, its my daily driver, 12s on the 1/4 is good enough for me. All you rwd and v8 faggets try and tell us were stupid for building a 4cyl fwd car.

Now tell me what the **** is wrong with me trying to build a fast cavalier? Its my car ill do to it as I want.

You need to shut the **** up and mind your own business. Who cares if im building a 12 second cavalier, I want to do it, im going to do it regardless what people say. What the hell are you going to do about it, bitch to me on the internet? Big ****in tough guy we have here.

Hahah you are easily bothered, I love it.

Get pissed muchly?

What's wrong with it? In the end it is still a heap of cavalier. Good luck daily driving that thing, it won't work out as nice as you think.
