zz4

i was wondering what i would have to do to put a zz4 350 crate engine in my 94 z.

Why would you want to do that? You can get a lot of hp out of the LT1?

archemedes 09-05-2005 08:47 PM

wouldn't have to do much except get used to the lower power (the zz4 is over rated in power from what I have seen it's not horrible, but not that great) it will bolt in to th stock lt1 mounts the trans will have to change, or get a computer to run it from painless performance

Here's a quick 9 step process overview...

1.)Buy zz4 motor
2.)Buy bunch of other useless wiring and mounts for stuff of the LT1 motor
3.)Buy two dozen cement blocks
4.)Purchase appropiate mortar and tools for laying block
5.)Build a wall approx. 6' high
6.)Wait two days for block to dry
7.)Run head first into wall repeatedly for pulling out a more efficient motor and losing power and mpg and originality of the car
8.)Take zz4 motor out and put the LT1 back in after selling the zz4 motor and buying go fast parts for the LT1 motor..approx $4500 into a LT1 should net you an easy 450 horse N/A with plenty of money left over for other upgrades.
9.)Take $4500 and put into LT1 and have one mean a$$ car that will keep pace with vette's and might tangle with a Viper now and then.

Please note- steps 1-8 can be avoided, but only you can prevent such acts of meaningless work and effort for less power for more money
