Dont forget he made alot of 10 second passes with that car and they never said anything to him. It wasnt till he ran in the 9s that they kicked him off.

For the record IHRA is 11.49 for a roll bar. Full cage not required till in the 9s.
NHRA used to be 11.99 for a bar but have changed to 11.49.
Street no bar needed. Run as fast as you want with out one.

First of all, my car hasn't ran in the 12s since probably 2001, secondly who the hell said I was building a race car? every car faster than 12.0 has to have a cage or a bar, I don't think so, I might do 5 or 6 passes at the track, the rest of the time, this is a street car, enjoyed by me and my family.
will i accept every challenge someone on here flaps about, not likely.
unless you run deep in the 11s don't bother. I can't afford to get pinched street racing.

I wasnt flapping, you were the one calling people out with an unfinished car, I simply stated that the odds of you actually coming down and racing 5pt are slim to nil, if you do end up coming down, good times will be had by all, so dont bite my head off, You are the one starting a thread calling someone out, OH YEAH, Ill be nice and not waste your time, because if you plan on running low 11's thats very impressive, My old combo did that 3 years ago on the motor, so the new one should be about 2 seconds quicker, you figure it out.

I wouldn't be dishing it back to 5point if I wasn't 100% sure my engine will be done real soon, My target to be back out with this car is May 1 the enginebuilder (me) will have it all assembled as soon as the machine shop is done boreing honing and the head work I needed, (fitting bigger valves)

I see the pipe dreamers are at it again. Some day you will wake up and smell the coffee. The vega was thrown off the track until a tech check the cage. That was on a mid 11 sec pass. Tech guy only allowed it the whole car had a 12 point cage and was built to specs 15yrs ago. The bar that went along the drivers side door was not upto todays specs. It was a size smaller. this was on a closed track day, so I don't believe he made more then 1 pass. So, if your box is eve into the 11's, it would be thrown off the track when you get into the 11's. Say what you, make up BS as much as you want. I know that your car is, and always will be a POS and 5point will shilak. Hell, I am wil to blow up a neon motor with NOS to show that you don't have enough and nothing more then a Keyboard racer and a wantabe street racer.

If you are refering to the 9 second GN with no bar he made one 9 second pass,(the one that badass posted the video of) and about a couple of dozen or more ten second passes on other dates with out one word said to him about not having a bar.
I know because I have seen it at the track more than a few times.

It all depends on who is teching and who is paying attention that day.
Friday nights you could pretty much get away with anything but since the jet car crash they have tightened the noose a bit.

Obviously you have no clue. when you show up with a tubbed race car on a trailer they tech your "race car" according to the rule book.

When I and the other buick guys drive to the track ( no trailer mmmkay) with kids in toe, going through tech is a lot different. and if you can read my last post, they can't tell how fast it is by looking or listening, things are different since that girl was killed, they were really watching and kicking out the faster cars without safety equipment.
Maybe you'll learn the difference between a slow race car (Vega) and a fast street car (GN)

the cobalt is a nice car but i push them through the corners so i guess i did something right, hah. trust me, the car likes to turn ;)
