Full cage not required till in the 9s. NHRA used to be 11.99 for a bar but have changed to 11.49. Street no bar needed. Run as fast as you want with out one. |

Sorry bud, but thats really nothing to brag about these days, there are lots of 12 second car roaming the streets. Ill still put up the $ for 5pt, for one reason being I know he will race, odds are you will never follow up to your bet. Ive seen it a 100 times before, people get over there head and then back down, wait till your car comes out then flap if you want. Anyway, if you really wanna, you can try your luck with me too. I dont really race for money tho, but its your call. hows about we race for that sticker?
First of all, my car hasn't ran in the 12s since probably 2001, secondly who the hell said I was building a race car? every car faster than 12.0 has to have a cage or a bar, I don't think so, I might do 5 or 6 passes at the track, the rest of the time, this is a street car, enjoyed by me and my family. will i accept every challenge someone on here flaps about, not likely. unless you run deep in the 11s don't bother. I can't afford to get pinched street racing. Take care. |

I wasnt flapping, you were the one calling people out with an unfinished car, I simply stated that the odds of you actually coming down and racing 5pt are slim to nil, if you do end up coming down, good times will be had by all, so dont bite my head off, You are the one starting a thread calling someone out, OH YEAH, Ill be nice and not waste your time, because if you plan on running low 11's thats very impressive, My old combo did that 3 years ago on the motor, so the new one should be about 2 seconds quicker, you figure it out.

and I meant a low 11 car might have a chance if i lose traction, Like any build, you can't go by what others have done with the parts you have, Time will tell and tuning is everything.. I wouldn't be dishing it back to 5point if I wasn't 100% sure my engine will be done real soon, My target to be back out with this car is May 1 the enginebuilder (me) will have it all assembled as soon as the machine shop is done boreing honing and the head work I needed, (fitting bigger valves) Not that anyone cares, I have all the bearings, rings and gaskets. oh yeah, it all has to be balanced then I can assemble it all. |
I'm gonna need a shim under my gas peddle for you to keep up, and Toiletduck, well lets just say he'll need a tree stump.
You don't have enough. |

I know because I have seen it at the track more than a few times. It all depends on who is teching and who is paying attention that day. Friday nights you could pretty much get away with anything but since the jet car crash they have tightened the noose a bit. |
mikes vette runs 9's, he gets kicked off reguarly yet they know the car and still let him make one or two eachtime he goes

It was a size smaller. this was on a closed track day, so I don't believe he made more then 1 pass. So, if your box is eve into the 11's, it would be thrown off the track when you get into the 11's. Say what you, make up BS as much as you want. I know that your car is, and always will be a POS and 5point will shilak. Hell, I am wil to blow up a neon motor with NOS to show that you don't have enough and nothing more then a Keyboard racer and a wantabe street racer.
When I and the other buick guys drive to the track ( no trailer mmmkay) with kids in toe, going through tech is a lot different. and if you can read my last post, they can't tell how fast it is by looking or listening, things are different since that girl was killed, they were really watching and kicking out the faster cars without safety equipment. Maybe you'll learn the difference between a slow race car (Vega) and a fast street car (GN) let me know if you need my to write this in crayon for you. |

It took a team of like 12 GM Engineers to get a Cobalt to be competitive.:headbang: |
