how is a larger tire supposed to be wider? a 195/14 and a 195/15 are equal in tread width just different in height. i wanna hit the track cuz theres no risk of BS ( traffic, cops etc. ) id rather break something saying i was at least at the track.

There is a difference. Contact patch.

I am not going to dig up the math for it though..

cause were not cool enough to race on the street, i wanna see what your car will actually run on the "street" set-up cause we all know what looks like a 13's car on the street looks like a 14-15's car at the track.

weather the tire is 14 inch or 15inch they should have the same width. the larger tire wont spin as many times. what kind of BS is usually at Cayuga. alls im saying is id rather race somewhere where i can feel safe knowing i wont get my car crushed for street racing.

You're forgetting *length* of the contact patch. The width of a contact patch will be the same (or very close) for a 195/60R14 and a 195/50R15 but the lengths will be different.

first off thats because the track is different than the street... some street tires will hook up better on the street...

some people have problems racing on the street, Do you have an issue with that? Knowing the new laws and all that other bullshit somepeople dont wanna run on the street, for a mod your encouraging street racing alot. "be a man, DO THE RIGHT THING!" go to the track.

Cracky 08-01-2006 01:42 PM

listen up. Ill mess up all your guys cars. take your pieces of wood and go have a campfire. :smokin:

nothing wrong with a quick run on the street .... weaving in traffic and all that other bullshit.. thats a problem.

yea u'r right it is... u'll almost always hook up better at the track then on the street.... it doesn't matter if u run street tires or slicks....

imo, your just making excuses to be quite honest...

I know people w/ civic's running mid to low 12's on a street radial (read: NOT a BFG or anything like it)....

so, you claiming that you need slicks to run u'r stock H22 Civic @ the track is compleate and utter BS.
