No matter what you have to pay a certain amount a month.. You can not get rid of your phone either because you are on a 3 year contract... Why rogers is charging you 150 a month, i have no clue and you should phone them back... I dont believe there is any plan out there that charges 150 a month, onless you have so many add ons that it isnt even funny. But no matter what you shoudl be paying what your plans price is, even if you dont use the phone.

you should try to sell your phone and recoup the cost of bill+cancellation fee

If you are not able to sell your phone, just change your monthly plan to the lowest it can go, no voice mail, no caller id, nothing extra, minimum minutes, that way you are still under contracted but you can pay like $50 a month instead of $150. Good luck!!!

cracking the phone won't do anything, you could smash it into pieces and they'll still charge you your monthly bill.

Call them up, some company's I know bell does this can suspend your account and charge you something like 7.50 a month (thats what it was a few years ago) to suspend it.

Call Rogers up tell them you want to cancel, they will ussually charge $20 for each month reaining on the term to a maximum of $200. So if you have 5 months left on the contract you pay them $100 or if you have 10 or more months left then you pay the max $200. Then you are off the hook. The exact cancellation terms should be on the back of the contract you signed.

While you are on the phone ask them to explain the charges because they do make mistakes. Every month for a year they charged my brother over a hundred bucks , so he had to call them every month to get the bill reduced. They always corrected it without any hassle. Just make sure the phone ussage on both phones you have are way not over the limits set out in the contract.

As a side note, when my brothers contract was over he cancelled it and 1 week later they called him back and offered him a wicked deal . He was offered a plan similar to the corporate plans they offer.
