best t.o. mechanic school
 

I have no previous mechanic work and would like to start an apprenticeship. I looked into it a bit and have seen "automotive training centres" its in BC and Ontario. I'd just like to hear your opinions.

I finished Centenial College Automotive Tech. program number 8202.

The best and most high tech school in Ontario.

thats the program im taking and i have nothing but good things to say about it

has anyone gone to automotive training centers? I like that its a 6 month course not 2 years...im getting older and need to start asap in a career. Can you work as an apprentice while on that course?

ask ice effect...but i think there's a apprenticeship toward the end of the course...

i'm signing up for the december classes...

I called them up and theyre gonna send me brochures.

Its 6 months, for 4 hours a day... morning and eve classes... and tuition is around $6500.

Are they any good? Anybody here a (or know any) mechanic who graduated from that school?

Cuz I'm having doubts about these private career colleges. The price is pretty high. Any feedback. thanks.

centeniall college is really good automotive wise, check it out. its also cheaper then the 6500 6 month one and its more "known". i'll be doing the centennial one sometime too

its more expensive but its much faster, in cenntennial i think its a 2 year program where you have to take math english and other with it, and at the ATC school, its all mecahnics and they cover the same course that cenntennial has with the same book they use only in 6 months, so you get the hands on trainning started pretty quickly.

There's this school I found in scarborough since ATC is just too ****ing far... and more expensive... :(

They offer an auto technician course that is 120 hours in classroom and 160 hours in the field placement. For around $2500.

if you want to learn a lot about cars and how they work , then find a small shop. You will be able to learn a lot , compared to some dealerships. But once you have a wide knowledge about cars , move into a dealership where they work on high end cars ( basically what im doing now).
