Bought some new toys today... (NOW WITH PICTURES)

Well, as a reward to myself for getting a pay raise at work, and sticking with my New Years' Resolution (keep inhaling copious amounts of oxygen, I'm very proud of myself), I bought some new toys for the Yeep.

You may have heard of Radar Roy or radarbusters.com...

#1. The Detector: The Bel STi Driver
One of the best detectors on the market today. Undetectable by the Spectre II RDD (which is used in my home province, where I will be in March for a wedding).

#2. The Jammer: The Blinder M-20X Treme
You can't ticket what you can't get a reading on. The M-20X is a laser jammer (perfectly legal for use in North America, except certain states) that confuses police LIDAR by flooding its line of vision with infrared light, overpowering its own signal, causing a jam in the gun, and warning the driver, allowing time to slow down.

#3. The Stealth Coating: Laser VEIL
By reducing the amount of light reflected back to the laser gun, VEIL effectively lowers punch-through of laser enforcement guns by an average of 50% (real world tested).

Now I'm really going to miss my Camaro. :D

Mike Jones 01-31-2007 02:43 AM

Haha, really don't want tickets I see.

You're protecting yourself from every angle possible.

TorqueDog 01-31-2007 03:03 AM

I dislike low speed limits, and I dislike tickets even moreso. :D

Amurican_Muscle 01-31-2007 03:16 AM

Dude... That stuff sounds hot. I want it.

97z2801ss 01-31-2007 12:00 PM

paarman97maro 01-31-2007 12:17 PM

Are canadian cops as mean as ours? haha..

TorqueDog 01-31-2007 09:39 PM

Nah, they're actually really nice... as they write you a citation for speeding. :lolsign:

1hottcamaro 01-31-2007 09:46 PM

mxracerbrian 01-31-2007 11:09 PM

ITSA6 02-01-2007 08:57 AM

wow and how fast can you go in the sebring?

TorqueDog 02-01-2007 03:47 PM

... what Sebring? Sebring Silver Metallic was the colour of my old Camaro. :p

I used to run an Escort Passport 8500 X50 in it, back in the day. It had seen speeds in excess of 240 KM/H on several occasions.

This stuff is all for the Wrangler, by the way.

fbird42 02-01-2007 04:22 PM

Phate 02-01-2007 04:25 PM

I'm 21. My insurance is in my own name. I have registered/own more than one car. As a result, insurance isn't exactly cheap to begin with. Oh, and I have a lead foot.

If spending the $1,000 now means keeping my insurance rates low, and not having to pay speeding tickets, I'll spend it.

Plus, whenever someone gets into the Jeep, it'll be like friggin' Knight Rider... Garmin StreetPilot i5 Satellite Navigation, Bel STi Driver detector mounted above the rear view, and the Blinder M-20X integrated into the dash. It'll be my own little space ship. I'm gonna buy a helmet while I'm at it. :p

Make sure the helmet makes Darth Vader noises.

He'd probably have better luck banging the girl in your avatar.

TorqueDog 02-02-2007 10:16 PM

They came today. :D

The Bel STi Driver (most fancy friggin' packaging ever...):

The Blinder M-20 XTreme w/ Laser Test Unit

The VEiL Laser Countermeasure:

I'll definitely take more pictures when the jammer and the VEiL is installed... apparently VEiL gives off the look of a very mild smoked headlamp, like on many BMWs. And when lit, it gives it somewhat of a whitish look like an HID system.

paarman97maro 02-02-2007 10:43 PM

put your phone on the charger.

TorqueDog 02-03-2007 12:33 AM

I just took it off the charger, it's fully charged. Bugger off. :p
