I found with those tweaks my load times were slower.Firefox has a message board someone there would have the info you want

too much stuff? I can see with my anti spyware stuff IE has a ton of spyware built in (I get a notice when anything sends any info)

paarman97maro 12-12-2005 12:17 AM

I meant too many features.. there are buttons all over the place. Plus all you need is a decent pop up blocker (google toolbar, or the one that comes with SP2) and you should never have any problems with internet explorer if you dont go to 'third world sites' as I like to call them. Ive never had any problems with IE that I havent caused for years, so thats why I stick with it.

really? I love firefox WAY better then IE. Plus having tabs is the best and the build in pop up stoper is badass.

paarman97maro 12-12-2005 04:20 PM

Im also used to a lot of the shortcut keys in IE.

I see youre using Windows Media Center ;)

SOMBirdV6 12-12-2005 04:54 PM

Yup, this computer came with the Media Center XP.

I have pop up blockers, and get them constantly (microsoft installed spyware in IE) I have ghostsurf, and it shows when it's trying to send certain info, and blocks it.I get no popups on firefox, and tab browsing is so much better (plus adding top favorites to teh taskbar makes life easier)

what kind of spyware, and what kind of information could it be sending thats so valuble? I dont remember entering my address, any credit card numbers, or hell anything valuble into any computer file on my computer. Ive never seemed to get any fraudulent feedback from IE either, and in the case it was that serious of 'spyware', I think legal action would have been taken against it.

it has a tracker much like what gator installed from what I have noticed, it tries to send microsoft a list with all your cookies, they have a dll for a program that detects what programs you have and use on your computer and sends it to a database (it only works if the software is installed, but it gets installed with some seemingly normal stuff)

paarman97maro 12-13-2005 10:48 PM

It obviously isnt doing what its 'supposed to' with my cookies otherwise id be in prison right now.
