Cookout

We're having a small get together with our family this weekend. I am looking for some unique side dishes that I can make for the cookout. I'm tired of the usual pasta salad and baked beans. Any ideas?

I'm a fan of devilled eggs myself. I once went to a party where someone chopped up peices of apple and put it in with the potatoes for their potato salad...it was kind of interesting not knowing what you were going to bite into next!

Have you ever tried Ramen Noodle Coleslaw (also called Chinese Coleslaw)? I know it sounds strange, but it is so yummy! I had it for the first time this summer. Here is a link to the recipe (or course there are different variations--you can also search for the recipe to see which one you like):

I don't have any side dish ideas, but I do have a pretty good snack. You take popcorn (it doesn't really matter if its fresh or store bought) and mix it with M&Ms.

I like to get Wise brand white cheddar popcorn with the peanut M&Ms. You get a nice mix of cheesy, salty and sweet.

Yum! That sounds good. I will have to remember that. I always put out the old boring chips and dip. Sounds like this would spice it up a bit. I love Smartfood popcorn. That is what I would probably use.
