Crazy to move to Pickering?

I'm considering moving to Pickering. Right now I'm renting a placce in High Park and when my fiancee moves in in September we will definitely need a bigger place.

She does not want to be down town, so I figure its either N,W, or East.

I'm thinking East because I just moved from Ottawa and she is from there too. We will want to go back quite often so east would be easiest.

Can anyone recommend any good housing companies around here? Any other ideas? Is Pickering a bad idea?

I know the commute will be quite lengthy, considering I work on Peter St.

HELP!

from the driving around in that area perspective, its pretty okay, somewhat commercial. but if you go a little further up, its more quiet/60's neighborhood. check out like mississauga or surrounding areas, i like the houses down there :veryhappy

pickering really isnt that much closer to ottawa than milton on the grand scheme of things....
the commute into T.O. would make you want to slit your wrists. If you can find work out towards the east, live there.

Miss. is overpriced for housing. Brampton isnt bad. Ajax and pickering im sure are cheap.
You could always move around the park lawn area... i hear park lawn hookers are like $5 :retard: (thanks fukenricen for the details)

oh, and when one of the reactors actually has a meltdown. You die. :dot:

TurboSupra12 12-29-2005 11:10 PM

^^ But, when it has a melt down, we'll die first, and immediately. Beleive it or not, that's somewhat comforting. I won't have to deal with all the weird crazy that will come frmo the radiation exposure.

I'm in Ajax. It's not too bad out here. But for transportation, I'd say take the train or something. Drive would be horrible. Especially comeing back east at like 6.

I went up to ottawa a few weeks ago. Took about 4 hours.

Man I seen some housing project in ajax/pickering . Looked like row houses on coronation street. Little small house with no front yard and a access road and 20 square feet of grass with a single car garage in the backyard. Talk about your basic birdhouse..77.

that sounds nice... I'd like to rent for maybe a year and then buy a new townhome.

I'd definitely take the GO to work... any idea how long that would take?

Well yeah, if you buy a cheap basic house. Just like any other city. :retard:

go train would probably take 30-45 minutes I think? Haven't been on it in a while.

30-45 mins too Pickering? that seems awfully quick

I just checked houses in Oshawa.... and they are Huge and Cheap!

any idea how long to Oshawa by GO?

J-MAC 01-04-2006 07:45 PM

re:

bro i live in pickering and i must say that i like it here alot more over my old place in scarborough... it is quieter and there are less ***holes. my mom takes the go from pickering and the express trains take her 20 mins to union station.... the normal trains usually 35mins. houses are cheap down here... but oshawa is cheaper... if ur in to the musclecar/import scene...it is starting to thrive a bit more in the durham region... i was first skeptical b4 moving to pickering but it is a good place to live... i cant complain.. jay
