Whats everyone think about the new Displacement On Demand from GM? Im sure we all know it comes with the new small black V8 5.3l 303hp engine in the Montel Carlo SS and Impala SS. I think its rather interesting GM could really go somewhere with this.

yeah, my roomate just showed me the new monte yesterday, and im actually impressed... I think the resdesign of the front is way better... and they have power to back it up too, im interested in seeing the outcome

They got 28-29mpg highway in the monte ss. Thats more then what I get in the V6.

the problem was the switching, and the power (not to mention the utter lack of reliability) that old caddy got almost 30mpg is a deville (about 2 of your car) also notice the estimate is a gm estimate it has not been tested by the epa yet (altough the ratings are useless today since they are done on a dyno at 55 mph and averaged with no air drag, or accesories)

I recall the new small block v8 with the DOD doesnt go by LSX series its something else now. I think its LZ something I could be wrong.

when i was at the autoshow it was ls4 and in a recent gmhtp it said ls4
