Driving long distance

I have an upcoming trip that will require me to drive about 800 miles. I think this is the longest trip I've made in a car. What's the longest trip you have driven? How did you survive?

When I was about 20 I drove to New York from Florida. I only stopped once for 4 hours. I really don`t know how I did it. I couldn`t do it now lol. Gettin old. That was a long drive.

My husband ended up driving from Cali out to the east coast, somewhere in the Carolinas that was his best trip. Mine was only from my home state (MD) down to SC to visit some distant family, so not nearly as long. I enjoy long trips better, love freeway driving, hate side streets. :D

For me personally, the furthest I've driven was from Sacramento to Salt Lake City, however many miles that is. As a child, my father drove us from Sacramento to Oklahoma City. I used to love to drive. I prefer leisurely jaunts now.

I've driven from Florida to Ny and back several times and I think that the best way to do these trips is with good company. Not just company - but good company.

I think driving cross country would be really cool to do but I'd like to do it with unlimited money and unlimited time.

Rusty, you're exactly right. Good company is definitely the key. Not so sure I'll be that lucky though. lol

I took my family to Florida last year. It was quite a drive but my wife helped. The kids were really restless though. I think if we ever do this again, we may travel by night so they will be sleeping.

I have drove from one side of the United States to the next (East to West and West to East) a couple of times. It takes about 3 days to do the drive in. I had help though, and lots of company. Even had little kids in the car--luckily they were good. :)

I love long rides.

When I was a kid my parents drove everywhere with us two kids in the car. I have a lot of fond memories of riding long distances to take a vacation. I'd load up on books, crossword puzzles, and my tape player. lol It was always part of the adventure.

not really sure how many km's this is (about 15 hrs), but i just drove out to halifax from toronto last week. the car i rented had satellite radio and thats how i survived

I would much rather drive long hauls that short ones. I really hate city traffic, too many idiots behind the wheel. Once during a crazy ice storm that took out the power in the town, no one understood what happens at a stop light when no one has a signal. :(
