DVD to Internet?

So we did a dvd video of out last training event. Do any of you know how to transfer a dvd somehow onto the internet to be able to share it with people. If it is even posible, since there are site that show bootleg dvds people put on. It is broken down into scenes just like a regular dvd also if that info is needed. Any help would be appreciated.

What are the file extentions on it? .vob files? And how are you looking to share it... just like host it so people can download it, or put it up as a video on youtube or somthing?
