so now my car needs more repair, i had to WALK to mcdonalds for the first time in a year, lazy me lol, on the way back, gas price was 96.4 cents, and i heard ppl screaming and shouting, so i looked at the pump and i see two cars fighting over the same gas pump, argueing over who got there first, what a hilarious dude lol, 96 cents! it's not even really cheap as half a year ago, and ppl are fighting over who gets the gas first, what has this world come to???
post ur comments about ur experience in a "cheap" gas station.

I remember last year after the whole Katrina thing I was getting gas @ Finch and... Victoria I think?? Anywho.. this old guy was in between the pump waitin for this guy to pull out.. so when the guy pulled out and the old man tried to back in.. some dood in a civic pulls in.. old guy gets out rantin and raving and the guy in the Civic just said.. "I dont' see your name on it, and there's no line up" Looked around and there was line up down both roads for gas.

Anywho.. old guy blocks the pump and the guy tries to push him out of the way.. old man's sayin don't you ****ing touch me !!! Couple more swearing and get the **** out of the way.. guy calls the gas clerk.. gas clerk did nothing.. said.. well.. what you want me to do bout it? I don't know whose here first..

So $70 later, I"m full.. and leaving.. they're still going @ it.

You know, this is retarded. Gas has been $2 per liter in Europe for years. WTF? It's stupid people, who think gas is too expensive, yet drive to the corner store for a pack of smokes. Get off your lazy ass, and WALK. :bs:

I hate people that say "wahhhh gas has been this much here for this many years". Well guess what, a can of coke also costs something stupid like $5 over there. The cost of living is obiously much higher there, which is why gas is so expensive. When you pay a lot more for everything else, that $2/L for gas isn't so bad. That is no justification to raise our gas prices. Gas is something like $0.05/L in Venezula, does that mean they should start paying 22 times more so they pay as much as us?

Oh theres that other thing too... doesn't Canada have some of the largest oil reserves in the world? How many oil reserves does Europe have?

I wouldn't have such a problem with gas prices if I didn't know that they were just feeding us bullshit about why the prices are increasing and if they could show actual proof as to why they need to raise prices. All we hear are predictions, forecasts, and speculation, and not concrete proof to justify the increase in oil costs.

this is cao_tuo, i posted the thread using the wrong account, so there's my 2cents. ya i saw the fight at vic park and finch, petrolcan, funny , cz the two cars that were involed were a civic and accord, i wonder how much difference 10c makes on their whole tank. but for ur info, gasoline is a worldwide commodity, almost every country that could produce gasoline has to import and export with the rest of the world, except venezuela. when the whole world is competing on the same tank of gas, think of it as a auction or a bid, ppl are gonna drive up the price if they need it really bad, it's a matter of consumer competition. most of our oil is imported from middle east because we are not producing enough to satisfy our own needs, although we have a huge oil reserver that we're not touching, even if we do produce enough, and offer them cheap domestically, since it's an international market, foreign demand would jack up the price nonethless, therefore we are paying the world price for gas instead of the local price. the alberta oil sand is definitely going to raise the supply in a couple of years, and probably will lower the price by a couple of cents, that is assuming that demand stays or decreases, which is very unlikely to happen with the increasingly instability of mid east and the rising oil demand from india and china. so as long as canada is an open market, we'll have to settle with rising oil prices. BTW did u read the news? harper MIGHT lower the GST on gasoline soon, which will lower it to 80c a litre, hopefully it will happen lol. also on the news, the US is putting a tax on excess profits made by oil companies, did u hear that news, the CEO or some big head for exxon/mobil got paid like 260million for retirement, their reason - he did a good job, BULLSHIT!!!!!

B6T 04-25-2006 03:15 PM

That's bullshit, you need to check your facts. Canada has been producing oil from the Alberta oil sands and exporting 99% of it to the USA.

racing_trends 04-25-2006 03:20 PM

gas prices are crazy these days, canada needs to stop exporting all of its gas lol

B6T 04-25-2006 03:41 PM

^ No ... Canada needs to stop being a

Wild_Dima 04-25-2006 05:46 PM

if the gas is cheap ull save a 3 dollars or so, not worth waiting in like for half an hour

Wild_Dima 04-25-2006 05:47 PM

and yeah, our gas is cheap compared to other countries but lets keep on fighting so that it doesnt go up to 2 dollars

The gas that you and I are using in our cars right now is all made in Sarnia. I beleive it's somewhere around 95% of the gas we have, comes from oil in Alberta. I'd still like to know why our prices were so high after the stupid hurricane. Did it hit Sarnia? NO. Did it hit the pipeline? NO.
As for the COL in Europe, sure it's higher. BUT, you see a lot more of them driving better cars, turbo diesels, and mostly 4 cyls. It's our choice to drive trucks with 8l v10 motors, that get 4 mpg, for commuting. It's these people that do all the complaining about the gas prices. Gas prices don't bother me. I sold my minivan that fall, when the prices went over $1 per liter. Right now we have a 4 cyl Jetta, and my GTI. Both get over 40 mpg.
Hopefully, maybe people on this continent start walking, and then maybe we won't be the fattest continent on the planet. Until then, quit whining about the gas prices, and if it's that expensive, get off your ass, and walk to the store for your smokes.
And no, that's not all directed at Fred. :cheeky4:

Supra_RZ 04-26-2006 11:58 PM

People in Europe mostly drive 4 cyl's , just like what "rabbitman" said. Over here in North America we have the BMW 760li( V12) compared to Europe where they have a BMW 718li(4 cyl), u don't see much V8's, V10's, or V12's over their

phatgreatwall 05-19-2006 02:13 PM

another reason europeans dont complain about gas is b/c 3 of their countries is the size of GTA! they could walk to costco and walk back, but we have to drive there and drive back, we are way too out for walking in north america.

squintz 06-06-2006 05:46 PM

high gas prices are good anyways in the long run. it will stretch out the dwindling supply we have now. if we consume less now, there will be more left later on. who gives a why the oil prices are so expensive, why do we take from the oil companies anyways, we should be looking into alternative sources of energy, not padding a few hundred assholes pockets.
