first snow

Well we got our first snow last night, well actually it was more like freezing rain into ice with snow on top, but it was a true wake up call to me in MN.

First, I wake up and my apt is just ******* freezing. Apearantly our heat is not working, and I swear I saw my breath this morning. Then I go out to my car and the doors are frozen shut, and I cant get them open. I go out to try once again and I finally get it open with one last gallant yank. Im already late for school and I get caught it what seems to be the longest traffic jam ever. Finally I get to school and come in the middle of learning about subnetting (and if any of you have learned it before, it sucks ***, and confusing as hell if you miss the first half). So after that class, I decide to come home, because Im pissed off and dont want to sit through OS, which is worthless class, with a teacher even more worthless. So I get home, talk to the office about the heat, which should be getting fixed here pretty soon I hope, because my fingers are now numb. And then after that, before I pulled into my usual parking spot, I whip a 180 in the snow just to brighten this shitty day :D .

Anyone else get snow? I know La Crosse did, but what about all you guys further east?

Snowed here in Kenosha last night as well. I just looked out my patio door and can still see some sitting on the deck.

We got snow up here two days ago. We're already well accustomed to it... my car's been away since November 1st anyways.

My 4x2 F150 had no issues going through the deep, deep snow we got.

No snow here, thank god. They're talking about it I think on Friday for us.

By the way, bro, if you need help or any questions with subnetting, let me know. I went through the whole CCNA certification training ( never took the test though because I was broke and couldn't afford the $120 test :banghead: ) and I'm also taking another IT class this semester, so I've had my share of subnetting.

That would be awesome man.. Did you have to go though the Cisco material or Cisco's NetAcad online? If you have any online references or anything, that would help. I think at this point Im just going to try reading some if it to see if I get a better grasp of it. My teacher is pretty confusing.

Unfortunately the course I was in was like 3 years ago, so I don't have any of my links or anything anymore. I don't even remember what my NetAcad login was anymore. :(

It still hasn't stopped snowing. It's not a lot though, just kinda floating across the road as the winds blow it.
And yes I'm still driving the mighty LS1. If I could drive my '94 through the snow I can drive the '99 with ease.

With ease? Thats a pretty bold statement. ;)

Anywhere that wasnt plowed today was pretty bad. My tires arent worth anything in the snow... I need my snow tires back, and some sand = fun.

Next week guys... Goodbye stock rims, and back to the hubs. :( Ill remember to take some pics so you guys can make fun of me.

I'm going to be putting on my 16" ZR1's as soon as I get a chance to paint them.

Who would make fun of you? You're still able to drive your car. Mine is but a few yards away, and completely immobile in the winter.

at least bernotas :o lol

It was quite an acomplishment for me to get rid of those hubs haha... but yeah, its just my winter rims and tires, so i dont care.

meissen 11-16-2005 05:34 PM

I'll probably be driving my car a lot less this winter. Not because I'm afraid to drive it, but more so because I'm afraid of the OTHER people on the road. After just getting it painted back in August, I really don't want some dipshit to slide into me and give me a fender bender. So, more or less this winter if there is snow, ice, or sleet on the road that could cause sliding, I'm going to be driving the porsche or the caddy. IE today, I have the porsche with me at class right now. Actually, the reason the camaro is home is because I am working on some engine bay appearance mods and it takes more time to do than I had.
