A fun day at work.

This has been a very interesting situation as of lately at my work. So, I have this woman come into work driving a Range Rover, if you dont know, not only are they a very expensive car to work on, they are a pain in the ***. Anyway, she had turned a rod bearing, I gave her a quote on how much the hole shooting match would cost her to get it all fixed, roughly $4,900. She cant believe how expensive that is, and asks me if there is a half-way fix until she can sell it :banghead: I already dont like the sound of her wanting to sell a half way fixed vehicle to someone, but ive already got some time in the car, so I tell her i'll just throw some bearings on it without replacing the crankshaft. Make a long story short, its half way fixed and runs 'ok' and $1,900 later (I had already called her and quoted her the price on all of it and she gave me the ok to fix it).

So, I call her and tell her its done and to come and get it and pay. One week goes by, two weeks, a month. I've called her countless times, and when she learns the number im calling from she doesnt answer, so I keep changing phones. Finally, I get in touch with her, and tell her she needs to pay NOW. And she tells me she will pay for it in $100 a week installments. Im a very kind person, but I said "Unless you can give me 3/4th of the amount due on the vehicle in the next week, im going to put a mechanics lean down on the vehicle". So she starts to freak out and then says I cant do that, that the vehicle is already filed under bankruptcy  (wtf!). I know the law, and it was illegal for her not to tell us that, and also that nobody can take the vehicle until we are fully paid for the work done. So now she starts claiming that we did the work to it without her written consent. (Now im mad.) I repeat what I said earlier about payment in the next week. She says shes going to come down today and talk to me and she hangs up.

Two hours later, she comes into work and wants to talk to me. So, she says she'll give me $400 now, and $100 a week, but she wants to drive away the vehicle today. I told her that she cannot have the vehicle until its completely paid for. At this, she screams, and runs out the door. I am still standing there awe-struck, next thing I know, shes breaking into the Range Rover with her spare key (I foresaw this coming to an extent and had taken off the licence plate) and attempts to drive it away. I run out and stand in front of her, stopping her from moving, and she trys to push me out of the way with the vehicle! Luckily one of my coworkers hopped into another vehicle and pulled it in front of her, behind me so she couldnt move, blocking her in. I call the cops, and shes on the phone trying to get someone to come and get her (She had gotten dropped off) before the cops get there.

Another long story short, the cops come, tell her she cant touch the vehicle until its completely paid for, and ask me if I want to press charges on attempted manslaughter by motor vehicle. I told him i'll get back to him on that :nana: .

Its been an interesting day.

Oh, if I had thought I was in any physical danger, I would have run around and dragged her out of the car by her hair.

DUDE. Thats fricken insane. This is your ticket to your turbo man... Do it. It sucks for her, but that was retarted ... and low. Wow ... Id say go for it. If you can tell she is not a good person, you dont have to be Mr. Niceguy to her. This might be your one chance to get a ton of money for next 2 nothing. ;) But thats just me ... Haha.

Good for you, people like that shouldn't get away with ripping off everyone else. She easily could have purchased a $5,000 car she could afford but instead she had to show off and buy this thing instead.
Personally I would have filed charges, scum like her need to learn their lesson.
