I have always been a gamer since I was a little. I just purchased Sim City 4 and now I'm trying to get my hands on the new fire emblem. Gaming is getting to be an expensive hobby though so I might have to give that up.

Use to.

Sim City 4 is great!.... for the first day or two. Then you start to realize how pointless it actually is. I'll stick to GTA VC and SA and Doom 3
|
i sold my xbox and ps2....
i mostly play on my alienware laptop now...usually either hitman 2 or now im starting to get into world of warcraft. |

The only video game I enjoy playing is Quake 2 on PC. I own that game, designed my own levels/skins/configs. Master railer.
|
CS 1.6 is good I manage to play now and again I was in CAL for it for a good time did all that BS for it and then got BF2 and just havent played CS much since.
|
are you up for a game yet? anyone?
|
I have a PS2, and pretty much play either driving games, football games, or shoot 'em up games. Never played a PC game in my life. Can't take the PC for gaming.

I never wnated to use a computer for games, i was strickly ps2 a few years ago, but once i tryed it out a few times... 3 years later im addicted :lolsign: of course i still love ps2, but i play games on the computer more... oh yeah, you can get them for freee, i mean legally ;) |
I play the nhl series games on both, and actually prefer teh pc for them, some games are better with the console, but most pc ones you can use a controller for (I actually have a controller that is exactly the same as my ps2 one) both are connected to surround sound, the sound is better on the pc, graphics on many console games are better (pc's have a slow refresh rate comapred to tv's)

i'm playin two games for the most part right now WOW and Forza. i also play some final fantasy occasionally i'm on ffIX |
Just get a better graphics card that has the digital output to a TV. :D
|
pay no attention to the numbers for resolution, pc's are exagerated greatly, they also use the inferior interlaced scan, tv's (especially the hd sets) use progressive scanning, which gives a higher image quality, so a pc graphics card is also doing interlaced scanning (most cheap dvd players use interlaced also)there is a reason that when a computer company demontrates their stuff (especially when it's for video and gaming) they use a flat panel display that is really a tv (I can get a flat panel computer monitor cheap, but a tv version with no tuner in it is almost double the price)

OKay, i would beg to differ that a TV will show better gfx than a computer with video card supporting SLI, I would really honestly like to see that side by side. When you get a better gfx card, they support higher refresh rates, given you have a decent moniter. If you are talking about CRT monitors, i can see why you choose a TV instead. If you are talking about LCD, you are fighting a lost battle. You can easily bump up your frame rate with a 512 card to meet the "standards" of tv. Maybe in about 4 years when analog tv is gone and we have Triple Play with IPTV instead will it look better. But even then they will still rely on the graphics that the console machines are putting out, it all comes down to who can make the best display monitor, which, if you have enough money, you can have either be the best... the technology is out there, you just have to pay for it
