Gas Prices.......

At what gas price will you guys actually consider using alternate transportation?

Stailfish 09-02-2005 10:47 AM

Anything above 1.00/L

As soon as they skyrocketed a few days ago i took my mountain bike out of the garage and put air in the tires, started ot use it to goto the gym, corner store, etc..

Only used my car for actual distances. It's not that i cant afford it... more so that i just dont want to give-in to such ridiculous prices.

BOOSTED_ITR 09-02-2005 03:03 PM

in poland the gas is like 2.50$/L

just get used to it cuz the prices aint goin down

GinoLicious 09-02-2005 03:57 PM

Ive been using my Mountain Bike as well.. Been using it to go to the girlfriends house and such... But at nite i'll use the car b/c i dont feel like biking in teh dark... But I wont be able to bike in the winter... That poses some problems.

84camaro 09-02-2005 04:14 PM

higher... not cause i can afford it but cuz im a lazy er

munch 09-02-2005 07:12 PM

higher as well.....just because its a hour and half drive to work.... :smilie_da

GinoLicious 09-03-2005 01:29 AM

How bad are these prices going to get? I was talking to some guy, he claims that the prices will go down in Oct, since its no longer summer and all the kids arent driving anywhere.. But i think hes full of bs... What do you guys think? THis is coming from a guy in a civic, riced out, and hangs out at T5 all the time.

rabbitman 09-03-2005 03:33 PM

When it hits $2 a liter, my V6 minivan will be for sale, and we'll be getting a mortgage on a newer turbo diesel VW eurovan. OOPS I meant loan.

GinoLicious 09-04-2005 11:01 AM

Its weird, everyone keeps speaking about hwo its going to drop once winter gets here... Ne thoughts?

Zapa 09-04-2005 01:01 PM

high prices could also be a good thing

i find it true that most extremly cheap people , are also the people that can't drive for . u know who they are ... so getting rid of these dumbs off the road is good . also less polution ... of course more money for TTC workers to go to MC Donalds to maintain their fat asses but what can u do .

I hope this crisis will spike the interest in hybrids and Hydrogen cars. My next car will be Prius, I very like it.

Zapa 09-04-2005 03:11 PM

are there any hydrogen cars out there yet ?

my friend had a design for a car running on water . But almost impossible to sell to anyone , since corporations benefit too much from gas sales .

Nastyzed 09-04-2005 08:41 PM

GM has made a hydrogen powered car I saw it on a commercial

Nastyzed 09-04-2005 08:56 PM

BTW It has nothing to do with demand, we have no choice, if you want heat, hydro, transportation, and basically a normal way of living, you need fossil fuels.People can take their hydrogen and solar powered pipe dreams and smoke it, cause it will never reliably support the demand for power that the world needs in this day and age.I wonder what an independant crash test of a hydrogen vehicle would be after slamming it into a wall at 60mph. I'm guessing a bigger explosion than gasoline, even solid hydrogen is very explosive

yea i saw that too. BMW has one too. apparently its the fastest hydrogen-powered car, 185+mph, although that would be usless in this country. I heard GM has a hydro-SUV-thing. oh, also GM delivered a hydrogen-powered Hummer H2 to arnold schwarzenegger
