Gave a 'beggar' money
 

Well on one hand when i see people asking for money or homeless people...i think get a job...around here since the hurricane hit, construction companies, roofers ETC are hiring like crazy....and they have day labor around here too so they could have a chance to make money, but on the other hand i feel sad for them...at the gas station this older guy came up to me askin for money, and all i had was 2.50 in cash on me, and i gave it to him..this is the 1st time i have given any of them money...i was feeling so sad i didnt have like at least 10 bucks to give him and i started walkin to my car and the gas station lady came out front and said to him 'quit trying to get money for beer get out of here' and she said to me he does this everyday and buys beer with the money..so i was all feelin sad cuz i thought i didnt give him enough to get somethin to eat, when really he just needed a beer.....weird...do u guys give people money when they ask?

I don't cause i always see them smoking a cigarette and I know it's either going for another pack or some alcohol so it's not something i like to do.

Really aren't any begger's around here but when I was in college in Florida I'd see them everyday.

some of the beggars can't get jobs because they are homeless, yes giving them money may let them buy alcohol or whatever, but it may also buy them a hot dog

Wow im a generous person. I've seen a few beggars on freeway offramps. One time I saw a black guy in a wheelchair asking for money and all I had was a buncha 20s...I couldnt say that he'd be like **** boy you rich gimme da dough, so i gave him a 20.

I don't because there are non around here.. Don't have to worry about it..

i dont see many around here, there are only a few i think if any, but whenever i see them i always feel really bad for them weather its there fault or not.

Um, can someone spare some change? I need to fix my car. :nana:

I don't see many beggers around here, actually I can't say I ever have... but I do donate a lot to charity. When I worked at PETsMART, hell even now when I don't, I usually donate atleast a hundred, sometimes $150 depending on the charity we're doing. Here at my current job I went and bought $50 worth of toys for Toys for Tots that we just did... I dunno it's easier for me to spend for charities when I know it's a charity and not an individual person.

I'll give them a job application or show them where they can sign up for the armed forces.

i give money to my church when i go twice a year.. if that counts for anything .. otherwise no.. people piss me off.. its not that hard to get a job honestly

if they say they want money for food....go get em something to eat instead of giving them money....at least they cant buy alcohol or something with it then..but yea..i dont give em anything. one time i was downtown and this one was talkin to me, my friend, and his gf for like an hour. he was crazy. tellin us about how he had 9 sisters and how he always put them in handcuffs and had sex with em...he offered us a beer but we just told him to keep em.

^^ yeah that's the best way to do it, just give money to a legit non profit charity where you KNOW the money is doing some good.

they have plenty of day labor places around, where u just go and do labor for cash...any1 can do it....and like i said there is so much construction companies hiring around here, so thats why i feel like around here they should be able to make some money, but i still feel sad for them sometimes

I usually don't just give out money....I work for my money and I am reluctant to just hand it out.

What really pisses me off it being approached by people at gas stations asking for gas money. :banghead:

my dad once gave an old man in a wheel chair with an army jacket on 5 dollars, the guy had no legs and he was like sitting in the parking lot.

when a 'beggar' asks for money to eat, you should never give him the money.. you should go inside, and spend the money that you were going to give him on food then give them that. That way if they really want to eat, they will, and there is no chance they will spend it on booze or drugs....

I feel the need to reiterate the point! Some people actually make a huge killing on the money that they 'bum' off of people. They aren't even actually homeless, and are well off, but they still do it...

I noticed that when I was in college in Florida. They'd be at the same spots everyday at the same times and you'd see tons of cars giving them money. They probably make more than I do because I pay my taxes!

I don't simply because i can't roll my driver side window down with out it breaking and falling into the door.

But i did give a bum an entire cake once.
