The beach one is my job in the reserves. Funny story about that: They decided that since I was going to be a civilian cop I might as well be an MP too - only being an MP sucks. I'm working on getting back into a flight job, I just have to find an opening for an E-6.

But yeah, I start the academy July 11th - assuming I can get a physical by Tuesday, and once I do that I should be on the payroll almost immediately for the police department and then its home sweet home from there. I've been eyeballing this condo out near the beach, its a 1200 sq. foot place, 2 bedrooms, 2 bath, only problem is it's $340,000 - Not many banks will give me a loan based on the fact that I have no income...

doesnt a military background help out? and wont you get paid well enough to afford it?

Military background doesn't help at all with anything I'm trying to do - just shows that I have discipline and can follow orders.

I should be making enough to afford it, as a matter of fact, I have about $40,000 to put down on it, but they won't take my word as far as "having a job in the future". If I already had a contract it might be a different story, but I have to get into the academy before I get that.

i know what youre in. i want a loan but i just started working so its gonna suck.
