With the wife and myself buying a house I want to do something for security. I really want to make sure the place is safe when I'm not home. No we didn't buy a house in the ghetto but I don't like the idea of coming home one day to find all my stuff gone.

Has anyone ever had camera's at their house? I'm looking at different systems online and you can get them at pretty good prices I'm finding. Right now I'm looking at a system that has four cameras and a DVR system. Two cameras are outdoor ones with nightvision that I'll put by the front and back doors and two are indoor cameras. I'll put one in the living/dining room area, and one on the other end of the house so I can see people that want to get upstairs to the master suite.

I'll probably put a small sticker on the doors that say something stupid like smile you're on camera and another small sticker that says protected by Glock.

Nah I would probobly go with some type intrusion detection, cameras are nice and all but they are not really stopping someone determined to take your ****. A nice little set up like ADT that will notify the 5-0 if people break in would scare ***** off more than a camera that wont catch much if they conceal themselves with masks and full suits like most do. Or just install a chuck norris, he will kill anyone.

At least hide the cameras... Dunno if you planned on doing that, but I believe youre doing a better job keeping them hidden either in somthing or behind somthing. No one will see them and try to take them out.

i would go with the ADT thing. Gets the cops there quick even if you are or are not home
