Im stumped.

Well, let me say this first, I consider myself to be pretty good with computers. Im by no means new to the topic, build them myself, used to write alot of c++ etc etc.

Anyway. Here is my problem. Every now and then windows will crash and give me an odd version of the blue screen of death. It will say "IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" and all the reasearch and everything on every forum and microsoft help has done nothing to find out what is causing this. It will happen every day a few times a day for months, then stop for a month and come back. Anyone have any ideas?

see- soon enough i bet you will see more of them around..i'm not a mac fan either, but gettin one would cure your blue screen blues. Wish I could help- I would love to be able to make $100 an hour looking at a bunch of {[#(*)%&lk;aher80#)%(UJDLKJH{)$&%^OIFo&#%()**] and knowing what it means..

My idea of fixing the computer is just click the mouse a bunch of times randomly and then just throw the switch on the power strip if it doesn't cooperate- probably why i've gone thru a couple hard drives too..

I would suspect a dll has a corrupt line of code, going to be a ***** to find (and macs can have the same issues if the code is wrong)

Ive already gone through msconfig and gone through the startup system, then I checked and cleaned my registry, ive also used the windows disc and repaired, ive chkdsk /r in dos, ive removed and added hardware and software to test it. No luck.

IRQ's are interrupt requests for processes. by it saying not less or equal seems that there are two pieces of hardware with the same IRQ. this cant happen.

im not sure man, dont rape me.
ill look into it more

Please do. My brain hurts. Ive looked so many times and just keep coming back to the same sites for no luck. And this is annoying as all hell.

PS - fdisk is not an option, 180gig and nowhere to move it to.

mxracerbrian 09-23-2006 12:22 AM

na you wont need to do that. have you installed new hardware lately?

Yeah I wish it was that easy. Nope, thing hasnt been changed since last christmas.

mxracerbrian 09-23-2006 12:52 AM

ok. possible bad stick of RAM. download this and run it to put it onto a floppy.

its a memory test that must be loaded from boot up before the memory is used for anything else. so set your boot priority to your floppy and boot off it.

check out the results and see what that tells you.

next possibility believe it or not is the power supply. do you have another one you could try out?

again, just ideas. im no pro

mxracerbrian 09-23-2006 12:55 AM

this isnt by chance a toshiba laptop is it? or if its a desktop does it have a Radeon 9800 video card in it?

and can you post the whole message? what parameter number is it saying in the message?

you by chance see this?

parametro1 00000024

archemedes 09-23-2006 01:32 AM

I had a conflict on mine that just appeared one day, have you gone through all your hardware settings?

paarman97maro 09-23-2006 03:17 AM

its bad ram. If i would have seen this sooner, I would have ruled all this nonsense out. Ill bet you a million you have a bad stick of ram.
