insurance claim

Just wondering.. I"m seeing more and more car with damage on the road. obviously it's fear of insurance claims.. and jackin up the insurance.. but does it affect insurance if it's not your fault?

as i've said countless of times ...

a few years back I had an initiative to go against the insurance companies on this very site . I figured ... about 90% of the people bitch about insurance rates . Maybe if we get 50% of these people to somehow support a movement against the insurance assers , we can do something about it .

The conclusion was of course , right off the start , that 90% of the people that bitch about insurance rates , would rather keep on bitching and feel the deeper in their ass , year after year , than do something about it . :appl:

also you must be aware of the fact that your car is a write off if the damage is more than 38% of the black book value of your car .

So basically you buy a car for 3000 $ . The black book value would be arround 1500 - 2000 . Some idiot rear ends you .

now it goes like this :
used bumper : 200 $
paint on the bumper : 250 $
re-bar : 100 $
labour : 100 - 300 $

your face when you realised that you just got ed in the ass and that your 3000 $ car will be thrown away and u'll be given half of the money you've spent to buy the same car ( good luck with that ) ... priceless ... that's why they have those insurance claim guys that come to take pictures . they secretly take one of your face when you hear the news . Then they give it to the insurance underwritters so that they could laugh their asses off while shoving hudred dollar bills in them .

since i was not at fault they were gonna repair the side FREE...NO deductible

but the car was a "total loss" and after everything was said and done i got a fat $2000 cheque for a $450 car :p

and my rates did NOT get affected...

if you say I'm wrong, then you're wrong.
either way, incase you're unaware, you were lucky. what insurance company you got, and where do you live?

Zapa 08-30-2005 06:17 AM

his case is one in a million

i got sode swiped my a transport truck 2 winters ago and my rates double until last feb...

zapa...how would u go against the insurance companies???... i'd be down for some violent protesting

Zapa 08-30-2005 04:23 PM

lol ... violence doesn't work anymore esp mass violence , subtle violence would do nice damage ( ex : Fight club ) but it would victimise the ers ...

a few years ago when I wanted to try ... I basically wanted to get all the people on the site to sign off on such a movement ... and then they could get their friends ... etc . etc

i guess we can do like the caravan drivers and block off a highway or some ( on a weekly basis ) . I mean , i figure 10 000 people shouting all at the same time for the same thing would get heard . Theoretically there should be at least 100 000 - 200 000 souls in Toronto alone that REALLY dislike insurance companies . Imagine getting all of them ...

but really , i don't think there are enough people with balls to do something like this ... as for this site , i guess many of the users would have to ask their parents and they'll say no

84camaro 08-30-2005 05:03 PM

i would be there... cause 375$/mth for a beretta is INSANE... and thats the cheepest out there...and thats cheep compared to what some people opay

well i know i'm not wrong...i wouldn't waste my time posting on a forum board just to make up a story

but anyways, i'm with TD Insurance...Brampton

drifter420 08-30-2005 06:29 PM

The idea of thousand of people jammin the highway won't affect insurance company.. since a.) you have to have insurance to drive the vehicle there in the first place b. ) thats just another rush hour to most toronto folks c.) it still doesn't affect there pocket book.. Good idea though.. keep the idea goin..

So it seems some people do get affected.. and some don't.. so I wonder in those cases.. wat kinda history do they have ( if you had previous claims and or if claim amount was high.. did they jack the rate based on history then? )

84camaro 08-30-2005 08:47 PM

in my personal claim i didnt even contact then ins. company... they called me.. said that i HAD to claim casue the other guy did... so they gave me a choice.. $500cash or 2200$ to write off my car...but either way HAD to be claimed... i was pissed...

so i took the 2200 and ran... that was with umm.. morris and makenzie or omthing...
i will never deal with thos motherers again
