Can you keep us up to date on this, I'd like to hear what happens, and if the race goes through, who ended up winning.

munch 02-14-2005 12:08 AM

that should be some good racing action :3gears:

midrange 02-14-2005 12:15 AM

this could get interesting! :3gears:

GLI 02-14-2005 01:23 AM

this was in 2004 according to the date, since it is an interesting topic, care to tell us what happened?

midrange 02-14-2005 09:41 AM

OH, so this is old news! :welcome:

tEqUiLAKiD 02-14-2005 11:37 AM

It says none of the blower companys have accepted the challenge as of 2004. So the race obviously hasn't happened yet

General 02-14-2005 06:25 PM

this looks good.. what company will challenge

l_bilyk 02-15-2005 08:20 PM

looks like a PTK publicity stunt more than anything :supergay:

Why only procharger and Vortech?

What about paxton, BDS, Kuhl, and the dozens of other supercharger manufacturers? What about other turbo manufacturers like Turbonetics, or Precision?

Dimitri 02-23-2005 01:51 PM

They probably don't want to be embarrased if they lose to something other than a Vortech or Procharger.

Doesn't say a lot if they lose to the competitors supercharger.

SuprAdam 02-26-2005 11:24 PM

106mm.......thats serious. I saw a 100mm turbo stang run deep in the 8's at etown.

Becasue ProCharger and Vortech's are THE best on the market....PERIOD...

there may be better custom chargers, but for a mass produced/popular name company they ARE what to beat, on track or the street...

Jay - there really isn't a bet supercharger manufacturer, but for racing, ProCharger is not the best one.

They have internal belt slippage and breakage issues (the internal drive belt stretches when you really beat on them, and eventually slippes and the best get ruined and you get no boost - and its a cogged belt. This problem has been a thorn in a friend of mines side since he has had his procharger setups.

Prochargers are quiet though, and car flow quite a but of air. They also don't share engine oil because they use an internal belt drive instead of gears.

That being said, I know of at least two 7 second procharger equipped cars (both are STREET DRIVEN) that would rip these guys a new .

What I am saying, is if you are going to make a boast like that, why not pick on the hardcore racing style blower manufacterers like BDS or Kuhl?
